just a smile, 28 May 2023No, they're just about the same. In fact, this is bett... moreIndeed. I bought the phone like a week ago, and it's pretty great. The display/ battery life/ camera are good and performance is smooth. It came with some bloatware ofcourse but after uninstalling unnecessary apps I found it to be not infected with ads like I have seen in some previous models. The newer software is intuitive and smooth too ! plus only the 12series will get the android 14 and MIUI 15 update not the 11 series and bellow. Some cons that I noticed while using the phone are : The flashlight is pretty weak compared to my previous phone which too had a singular LED flash light. The vibration motor is very weak compared to my previous phone and I can barely feel it in my pocket in a quiet room let alone if I was distracted and doing something else. The stereo speakers have a very weak bass, they are very loud yes but the lack of bass is pretty disappointing... I found a solution for the problem though, you can download an equalizer app from the Play store and then you can play around with the frequencies to boost the bass. The phones doesn't record 4K video but I have found a work around ! if you download the 'open camera' app, you can enable an option which forces the phone to record in 4k, the exposure starts to flicker and go crazy when you focus on subjects but if you adjust it and lock it manually it works just fine. the open camera app provides better image and picture quality but the native app offers more features so the user is free to choose. Phones are getting worse each year, In the sense that you don't get that much value for you money anymore. The next Redmi note 13S will probably be more disappointing at this rate. I like the phone so far and I'm looking forward to using it further. (my last phone was a galaxy M20 so it's a pretty substantial upgrade for me)
ps : The specifications page needs to be updated because it got a some things wrong about the phone and is missing some features.

honestly, i feel like they should get rid of 4g in redmi note xxs series cause all these 4g phone feels like a loophole, like 5g stole the spotlight and all better chipsets always have to be 5g. like all you just see here is 732g 680 g96 g95 and g99, or maybe they can use some of those old flagship chipset like 845 😂😂 jk its prob impossible

world economy/currency inflation/lockdowns probably have something to do with it,
but for years it's been a standard strategy in the sale of laptops to keep prices artificially high.
500 euro could get one a much better laptop in 2015 than it can in 2023.
phones are not getting signicantly better anymore so people don't feel the need to upgrade their phone as much.
the smartphone market adjusts by lowering the quality of cheap phones. at least xiaomi usually includes gorilla glass 5.
brands like Motorola and Nokia decided many years ago that gorilla glass is no longer important on a phone.

Well, well, well, look who's stepping up their game in the smartphone industry! Xiaomi just released the Redmi Note 12S and boy, is it a masterpiece! It's a downgrade in every possible way from the previous version, and guess what? It's more expensive too! Who needs improvements when you can just take two steps back, am I right? But don't worry, you don't have to spend a fortune on this new "upgrade" because you can just buy the Redmi Note 10S that was released two years ago and still outperforms this latest model. Isn't it amazing how technology goes backwards these days? Keep up the good work, Xiaomi!

Redmi note 10s has helio g95 with better game performance. Why Xiaomi release Redmi note 12s? They can release with Dimensty 1100 or 1200.

Helio G99 and IPS would be better. Helio is low-end. 48-50 MP camera could make price of phone close to low-end level.
