Xiaomi Redmi Note 14 Pro+ (Global) review
Design and ergonomics
The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+'s looks are more distinct than the rest of the Redmi Note 14 lineup. They have a single, centered camera island and curved front and back panels.
Like the 14 Pro, the Plus variant also has a vegan leather option. The global is offered in three colorways - Frost Blue, Midnight Black and Lavender Purple, with the latter being the vegan leather design, which we have for review.
The camera island is plenty big, and we can see how it can be polarizing, though.
Xiaomi certified the handset with IP68 like last year but upgraded the protection on the front and back. A Gorilla Glass Victus 2 sheet now protects the display instead of Victus. The models without vegan leather get Gorilla Glass 7i on the back.
The leather iteration weighs a few grams less than the glass back variant, and even though 205 grams isn't exactly lightweight, the 14 Pro+ doesn't feel hefty in hand. It's very comfortable to hold, and the curved back and front panels provide a comfortable grip. The handset is easy to use with one hand.
We are also fans of the faux stitching that runs along the back.
The fingerprint reader is fast, responsive and dependable, but it's placed too close to the screen's bottom edge, which isn't ideal.
Overall, we liked the design very much. We are unsure of the huge camera island trend, but the handset has a distinctive design. It's easy to distinguish it from the rest of the Redmis in the family, and it feels more premium than the rest. Ergonomics are excellent as well.

Despite the same main camera sensor the camera results definitely seem worse, especially in daylight photos. In fact the Redmi note 13 pro and pro+ last year seemed to have better camera performance
