Snapdragon sd625 have better power efficiency.
So its question on whether you prefer better heavy program/game performance or better battery life.

Anyways, You need to format your phone, M8, to reset the passcode. Boot in to recovery mode and try to reset/format your phone.

If doesnt boot into recovery, you need to flash flashboot mode
