This is among the few smartphones that have community support for LineageOS, Sailfish* and /e/ (eloo).

I myself am running Android 7; the lates... moreOh please, only compare to midrange or entry level product of Samsung and Huawei/Honor.
Don't compare to Google and Oneplus, those only sell premium priced products, and less features compared to Redmi.
Samsung and Huawei only updates on their premium priced P series and Mate series. Huawei own's Honor brand is worse than Redmi, not only not update Android version, but don't update UI version as well. Samsung also barely update their Android version outside of their S and Note series.
All in all, Android still not yet to the level of Windows where they force unify every UI experience, and can support to all device by just installing the same OS, but we are talking about ARM smartphone, definitely not PC/Desktop/Laptop.

Recent Software update made Redmi Note 4 as dual 4G connectivity. But the performance is not up to standards. 4G in 2nd SIM if not getting stage & often connectivity is lost. Need update to fix this issue...

If button volume only works if pressed hard, it's an hardware fault, replace it or have it replaiced by your customer warrancy. It's 3 years that I've bought it and still works good even with a lot of updates and falls.

Great device all round. Using it for nearly two years now with no issue. My first ever Xiaomi phone with a lot good impressions. Battery life is still topnotch.

Is there any proper solution for the Earphone symbol problem. I just need to have some solution although cleaning won't help that to disappear.

It delays full charge. It is not a malfunction of the phone but weakness of charger. Always use charger from the shipment.

Charging was often very slow, and sometimes it didn't happen at all. Bending the phone-side connector seemed to help sometimes, which gave me the idea that hardware is at fault. I had already decided to buy a new phone, but something made me try if re-installing the operating system would help, even I didn't believe it would. I did the re-installation close to a year ago, and I haven't had a charging problem since. The battery also seems to last longer, although I haven't measured it in any way.
