Massive shame Xiaomi didn't work out a fix for the severe battery life that thousands (if not hundreds of thousands) of customers are suffering from after a particularly mad update. Reverting phone to previous roms didn't work either. Battery doesn't even last 4 hours now.
If you have a choice, go with something else. I recommended this phone to all my family and friends and the same thing happened to 90% of them. Finally going to get an Honor and hoping for better.

Redmi note 4 released in Jan 2017. So, only software support for 2years? Very very bad Xiaomi. It's the time to change brand. Bye Bye Mi.

Then, why not they create a receiver that is adjustable to receive all the available band frequency rather than a fixed receiver that only support few fixed bands.
I know for India version only, they ditchs so many LTE band to just band 3, 5 and 40, to keep the cost lower, unlike the global version that support much more LTE bands. Future they should diversified more to release a global phone rather than region specific version, but that would increase the price.
I know you can pay for it, but not everyone willing to pay the extra cost, will blame they increase pricing.

I did try cleaning with cotton and various other options posted in youtube but non of them worked.
changing the whole motherboard is gonna cost half the price of the phone that's 5k so i didn't do it since my phones already 2 years old and the battery is also degrading it was not worth it for me.
Iam waiting for poco f1 version 2 if it's not with the latest snapdragon 855 then will go for oneplus 7.
