First of all 808 was a dissaster and was quickly replaced by 810. Second 650 does not heat that much, look at reviews some 40-45* C. Then comparing the performance of 650 to MT6750 it's huuge difference, so should never be 40*C for 6750..

SD625 is built on 14nm process, while SD650 is built on 28nm manufacturing process, which is less power efficient. But for power and performance, gotta give it to SD650. 2 additional cores of Cortex-A72 should be able to defeat A53's, though not that significant. Then again, RN3 got the Adreno 510 GPU, which is a better performer than Adreno 506. But it's back to what you actually need. :)

I want to buy Redmi Note 4 or Redmi Pro, as 1 guy out of every 5 now own Note 3 Pro. I was in dilemma because of MediaTek cpu's. Now Redmi Note 4 Indian variant has got Snapdragon 625. I was so happy. But then I realized it is downgraded from Note 3 Pro's Snadragon 650 CPU. Doesn't make any sense. Now let's see should I wait for Redmi Pro's Snapdragon variant or buy the MediaTek. I'd have definitely gone for Mi Max but 6.44" display lol. Why Xiaomi why? :'(

Its all about to choosing a beeter device which give you all required feature and in my way it is better than all other folks in this price rabge even RN3 too...

As it has 2 cortex A72 cores out of the six cores and remaining are A53,but don't get the thing wrong here,625 has eight A53 cores but in general usage A72 performs better than A53 for single threaded task,i.e most apps,system functions use one or two CPU cores majority of their time hence they have an edge here .
Another edge is the adreno 510 GPU which is better than 506 in the 625 and hence better graphics performance .
For battery life and reasonable performance snapdragon 625
The snapdragon 625 is built on 14nm architecture which is the best and the most efficient architecture , processors with multiple cores can hit higher clock speeds without overheating and draining the battery quickly with 14nm hence battery life is better and no heat ups with 625 since it is A53 cores at 2GHZ , while 650 has 28nm architecture which is bigger and drains battery faster
Both have almost same connectivity options like(4G,VoLTE,etc) as well as fast charging but their implementation depends on manufacturers.

SD 650:
Better GPU (Adreno 510), so higher resolution displays supported.
2xA72 cores, which are massively powerful for current phone CPU
28nm architecture (Older, Heats up, Eats more battery)
Hexa Core (with 4xA53 for rest of the cores)
SD 625:
Bigger Camera resolution supported (24MP vs 21 MP)
Octa core, all A53 (though very less applications support multi threading at such an extent)
USB 3.0 supported
14 nm architecture (new, cooler, battery efficient)
So here we have the distinctive points for each. Depends on what is your definition of 'better'. If you are a power user 650 is better. If you need a phone for normal usage, go with 625.

Well if you are looking for performance then 650 is better .This is because the 650 has the cortex a-72 cores which are really powerful.
But better performance has a trade-off which is battery life .The battery life of 625 is considerably better than 650.This is also due to the fact that the 650 is based on 20nm process while the 625 is based on 14nm process.
Also if you are considering for normal use .i.e not playing high end games, than both will be equally fast but the battery gains will be significantly higher for 625.
But if your priority is absolute performance than you will have to pick the 650.
So
Normal use or priority is battery than 625
Heavy usage or performance is priority than 650.

The 625 requires less battery as it is a lower TDP processor but has less performance than the 650 in return.
650 - better performance
625 - better battery life.
