I think its a software problem or bug.also check DND silent mode. Are u using default theme?, if not change back to default theme and check. Also check block list.
and wipe the cache.

Now updating to stable 9.2.0.1 .. so tomorrow is crucial for xiaomi India ... yes if they can retain his customer or not ..i sold (recommend)min 10 rn4 . Already in the past one week I changed one Redmi note 4 to Samsung J5 pro ...
1 satisfied customer will attract 10 new customers, but 1 dissatisfaction leads to 100 drops...be careful xiaomi

When I ask a random question eg. "What is the capital of USA?" to Google Assistant it shows me the result but it does not speak it back. I am using a Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 4GB 64GB variant. Please help me solve this problem.

(If it's hardware issue means , problem should occur immediately , but it's not like that ..too much confusing:-(

just google NO RINGTONE PROBLEM REDMI NOTE 4 and u can see it.
Phone basic is to CALL , if a phone can't fullfill that it's totally rubbish that's it's value for money and benchmark is high ..Bla Bla :-(
As I said if the next update didn't rectify this problem then this is my 1st and last Xiaomi..nothing more to say

If so wait for another update which may solve this problem. I am a long time xiaomi user and i can vouch that xiaomi phones are better value phones than samsung etc. I have already used redmi 2 , redmi 2 prime, redmi 3s, redmi 4 and now using redmi 5a and now considering redmi 5. I had issues while playing with roms(global stable/beta/ eu.roms etc . Xiaomi has huge developer community and if your issue is not rectified, please search miui forum or wait for future updates.

Not only cleaning , also I did clear the cache of UI, then only earphones worked ..my problem is even after restarting it fine for sometime but it got muted afterwards :-( some guys are saying even after factory reset it happens...so the problem is. With software or hardware earphone socket
