Just bought this phone for a week. Used to have Samsung/iPhone so have to learn to lower expectation on quality of camera, screen color, interfaces.
Major disappointment for me is voice clarity during calls. Callers complained of lagging, poor voice quality and sometimes buzzing noise that I often have to repeat myself. Seller updated MUI and will see for another week.
Other owners pls share your view on voice clarity thanks!

Even if you are not satisfied with this answer, try creating the MI cloud account in your MI phone. it should only allow registered phones to access its servers. On top of that the MIUI will ask for update right out of the box, so as you know OTA updates are only available for 'real' ones.. Good luck.

After 24 hours of usage I have found the phone pretty good. Camera is fair to be honest. I didn't notice too much noise in the pictures during adequate light condition. However, I haven't reviewed it in low lights, where usually most budget phones fail to impress. The phone does heat up a little bit after 10 minutes of gaming or camera shoot, but not too much to cause panic ( so don't expect a 'Note 7' here). I'm using the 3/64 GB version. Software is a breeze, MIUI does offer some nice features, like age prediction in camera, quick search of contact via T9 in dialer, dual SIM whatsapp etc. In the battery section I haven't charged the phone up to 100% yet, but the 'so far' usage suggest that it has enough juice to last a full day, even for heavy users. Overall I can easily say that you get more than what you pay for. At the same time, please don't start comparing it with your friends' iPhone and OnePlus 3. Cheers

redmi note 4 is a very good budget phone and India launched date expected from 5 January.
and China version helio x20 proccer
and India launched snapdragon version 652Soc proccer.
I thing very good phone....

I've shortlisted... moreXiaomi Mi5. It has the best camera among all Xiaomi devices and a really cool design. The battery is nearly as good as Redmi Note 3 (According to GSMArena's review). Plus it has a top notch performance.
Although I would recommend the 64 GB version since you wanna spend up to 300.

Well i bought Xiaomi note 4 3/64 Gb, and after 2 days of use i am very satisfied! it s on MIUI 8.0.5.0.0. battery is with my use, some fcb, COC, Clash royale, Mails, viber, calls and it lasted for full 36 hours. Very fast charging! After Lg G3, this is great smartphone.

I'm torn between this one and the Redmi Note 3. Can you please answer these questions to help me make up my mind?
1. Which phone's screen has a better color reproduction?
2. I'm a gamer and I play a lot of heavy games. Which phone can handle long time gaming without getting too hot? Also does the Helio X20 SoC throttle the CPU and GPU clock like Qualcomm when it gets hot or not?
3. Which SoC has better connectivity? (3G, 4G, WiFi, etc)
4. I haven't updated my current phone to android 6 because I hear it is very buggy. Since Note 4 supports MM only and not lollipop, do you think it's a wise choice to go for it?
5. Does MIUI have an option to disable automatic connection to WiFi networks or is it like Huawei's stupid EMUI?
6. And finally, what are antutu 6 3D garden and Marooned score for each phone?
