AnonD-275756, 20 Sep 2016What does "Flash gapps zip" mean?Mean flash google apps via custom recovery for Google service on your phone. Usually you need to do this when you flash custom rom.

As reminder for GSMArena reader, there is a companion phone to Redmi Note 4, simply just called Redmi Pro.
It is the AMOLED screen and dual camera version, with slightly more powerful Mediatek Helio X25 processor of Redmi Note 4, screen size is 5.5".
If price different is not much on your country, do check out that Redmi Pro rather than this Redmi Note 4.

AnonD-275756, 20 Sep 2016What does "Flash gapps zip" mean?Gapps.zip means the Google apps zip file that is used to install Google service, Google playstore, Google Chrome, Google Maps and more.
Those apps are not preloaded on Xiaomi's China version rom.
This Redmi Note 4 now comes only with China rom, Global rom haven't release, so have to install those Google apps manually.

sanju, 15 Sep 2016mi max is worst, its screen size is 6.4 inch and just 324 p... moreWith 1080p resolution, Mi Max 6.44" is with 342 ppi.
            I have own both 1080p 6", 5.5", 5" phone with 368ppi, 401ppi, and 441ppi.
Basically I cannot tell which one is the sharpest with naked eye because each one look perfectly sharp, won't visible any pixel.
The 5" phone may have a sharper screen feel due to it's smaller screen with smaller text and icon. When the 6" and 6.44" inch screen zoom the text size become smaller, they just look as sharp. But this seems to defeat the purpose of big screen benefit as bigger text on big screen is much better to be viewed rather than the painfully small text on small screen.

The phone is moving well, it has many useful functions, but it has flaws. You can not download applications from Google Play Store using data connection, but only on wifi connection. Cast is not working on Google chromecast. LED for notifications (missed call) is deleted, almost invisible, it should be white and more visible. When you choose English language menu, (it does not have romanian language yet), many items remain in Chinese language in menu. Apart from this, I am completely satisfied of it.

AnonD-585897, 16 Sep 2016I want to buy a redmi note 4 but i didn't use any xiaomi be... moreIf u want to get better aspects on those 4 aspects, go buy Mi series, NOT Redmi OR Redmi Note, as Redmi or Redmi Note lines priced CHEAP for a reason; lower QC, lower parts grade, lower features, and lower durability which means lower life span.

Most of Redmi or Redmi Note lines will have 'power' button or 'display' problem, or other problems like not charging or weak signal will occur in the span of 1 year of use. BUT, this is not the case for Xiaomi's Mi series, as Xiaomi use good parts with the same grade as other BIG Chinese manufacturers, tighter QC, RICH features (4K camera recording, better DAC, better camera), and higher durability which means longer ife span.
I have Mi4 & Mi Max SD650 version. Mi4 bought 1.5 years ago and still in good condition, as well as the 4 months old Mi Max.

BUT, if u want to buy Xiaomi's Mi series, make sure to get the 32GB ROM version or more, as MOST of Mi series don't have microSD slot (except Mi 1s, Mi 4s, Mi Max), as well as 3GB options, as MIUI OS is well-known for as RAM-eater OS as Xiaomi add many functional apps that will work in background whenever u boot it (My Mi Max SD650 have 3GB RAM, and the first time I boot the phone, my RAM is 'only' 1.5GB available out of 3GB)

Aiz, 17 Sep 2016I dont blame u since mediatek is improving year by year and... moreI know that. That reason are one of the two most told reason by people who choose to buy SD version of an Android-powered phone. I agree with u, BUT since we're taking about Xiaomi here, the possibility to get a patch as well as an Android update is HIGH. Even the old Redmi Note MT6592 version get an update to MM (the last update that I knew of).

Moreover, since MIUI OS is a HIGHLY demanded OS for its high-functionality (albeit well-known as RAM-eater OS), most people still satisfied even if they only get to flash their Xiaomi device(s) with MIUI OS (from the polling I read in a certain forum).

With that said, I think what people want the most is the possibility to get an upgrade to newer Android version, rather than possibility to flash their devices with VARIOUS CUSTOM ANDROID OS when they decide to buy a MediaTek-powered device(s).
BUT, the positive side when u get to buy a MediaTek-powered device(s) is u get to PAY LESS while u GET MORE features than what Qualcomm SD offers with the same price (better cpu RAW power, better GPU type equipped in the SoC, better GPS support, etc).
