Hi all..Bought the phone 2 months ago..1st impression is good..spec 4gb RAM 64gb(Mtk)..
But after update from stock rom to miui 8.2.1.0 it going crazy..first is notification sound keep set to none itself..can't play PoGo (after login keep on loading screen and then kick out suddenly)..and today it restart itself and always at MI loading screen and won't boot..after long press on power button like i did at pc, it can boot again..I wonder if this version is full of bug..really dissappointed..I'm from Malaysia after all..

I have seen reviews saying that the sensor on the camera has been changed to one by omnivision, can someone clarify which sensor I will get if I buy it now? Thanks in advance

I have one and after 3 months without problems, the screen started becoming black although the 3 buttons at the bottom were still lit up.
The issue would start randomly and end randomly as well.
Sent it back to be repaired but according to the email i got from them, the phone is fine.
Don't buy it.

Why can't I upgrade my OS to MIUI 9? When I go to software updater, it says 'no update available'? I was able to upgrade to nougat already though. Thanks in advance! :)

My antutu benchmark getting lower and lower everytime i update to the latest software. It scored low at 59,625 for MIUI9 ver 7.9.7 global beta ROM. MY first benchmark went up to 62,000. Nevertheless, UI and touch experience i basically the same.

Redmi Note 4X also have the MTK version which is quite comparable.

Guys, upon posting comment, i went to Updater and MIUI9 7.9.7 is now available. I'm now downloading it. It's a 367MB file.

What's the file size of the incoming MIUI9 7.9.7 Global beta ROM. Also, i am on current 7.8.24. Will i have to update 7.8.31 first to be able to update on 7.9.7 or can i just wait to pop the update and download directly?

hi guys...my take on Xiaomi Redmi note 4X 3GB/16GB black
1st impressions...phone very solid well built and premium. Really like it
currently miui 8.2.1.0....not yet update to the latest due to very many issues as posted in different forums. Everything is working very well, fast...no overheating
Reception...since am in Kenya, am able to get 4G on Band 3 only as this phone lacks band 20....so no 4G for me in rural areas but in town 4G is present...full bars very fast.
In rural areas, I get HSPA+ which has very fast speeds
battery life is excellent.....been on 4G the whole day at work and it consumes only 3-4%
Charging time takes around 2 hours to charge form 0% to full charge
music through my sony xperia z ear buds..is just excellent/high quality...better than the xperia z.
You need to activate is the equalizer in the settings
Calls very clear...

First batch was Sony Sensor (Reviews!), then Samsung (which was worse, but still ok) and now the latest batch has an Omnivision Camera - which has faulty drivers which will result in Pink Photos, broken Manual Camera support and many 3rd-Party Roms leaving the Camera without functionality (unless especially ported).
Thats a new low for Xiaomi.
