you can verify its authenticity at Mi site .
http://www.mi.com/verify/#secur_en . enter security number or IMEI + serial number. if it displays the same model as you are holding then its good. if its invalid then its probably a clone

There's no freaking difference between this and the regular redmi note 4 ...I don't know why a company would bother releasing an exact variant of the phone with the exact hardware

I have the 4 GB Ram and 64 GB Rom. I think it uses snapdragon Soc but it uses mediatex.

Just bought one, 4GB RAM/ 64GB. Well, it's a good phone but battery life is terrible. I am waiting Nougat but no OTA update until today.

After a month of using the device:
1. the recorder is too bad. I had my galaxy j1 before and the recording couldn't be compared to this device, such a trash. So much of noises and it cuts off in between. I installed a voice recorder and that's what im using now so thanks to the app.
2. The phone is just turning off by itself. I was using it then when the backlight turns off and I push the power button, its not coming up so I have to long press the power button and it turns on
3. Xiaomi says that theres already a Nougat update for the phone but im not getting any.
My question is, how will I know if my device is original and not fake? I just ordered it online so im worried. Thanks!

Anyone know of the speaker test? I'd like to know how loud the device is able to go e.g. the voice volume (calls) etc.
