Musang King, 31 Jan 2018Reliable source from Xiaomi said Redmi Note 5 will official... moreHow reliable is the source ? it is from Lei Jun himself ? if fact Xiaomi would have made official teaser & press invitation by now if there is an official launch in February, there would also send samples for testing in various countries safety standard authority.
So far zero news about it, guess what ? Xiaomi will launch Redmi 5 plus my country next week, this has been known for a month earlier as samples been sent to out products safety testing board a month ago.
All this are mere rumours, as according to Indonesia news Redmi Note 5 if it ever exist will only be launch by Q2 (April -June) a least.
Stop dreaming.

Redmi Note 5 to be launched at Feb end with a launch already scheduled.
RN5 will be available in two variants one with SD632 & SD636 (as both the chips are quiet good performer and power efficient as both are created on 14nm ) and both the versions will have Dual Camera, 18:9 aspect ratio, 4000mah battery, Fast charge support (USB type C).
Pricing might go a little bit high with RN5 but still it will be very aggressive compared to competitors.
The delay is due to two variants and also due to large scale production large for the
demand that will after the launch.
Beside Xiaomi is working on MI A2 & Mi Mix 2s (seen at MWC) and its flagship Mi 7.

No official a... morePartly agrees with U but there was a statement from Xiaomi official staff (Facebook and Twitter) about RN5 will be launch this February. Agree there was a lot of rumors about the rumors especially about the chipset either it will use SD625 or SD630 or SD636.

What's so important for y'all about the USB Type C port? I don't get it, I'm fine with Micro USB 2.0 and since I don't care for USB Type C I think it's only a gimmick for now. No real improvement instead of being able to connect regardless of the direction os the connector. It's a good feature to have, but not a DEAL breaker like you guys are pointing out.

Right now everything is possible about Redmi Note 5 specs either it Redmi 5 Plus renamed or different specs with SD630 or SD636 chipset. One more thing Snapdragon 670 and 640 not yet officially launch by Qualcomm so it will not powered RN5 when it will launch this February and SD660 is for premium phone segment but not included in flagship phone segment.

In fact up till today Xiaomi has not officially announced or give teaser on Redmi Note 5, All we see is possible of Redmi 5plus will be rename as Redmi Note 5 for India market, since India consumers so hard up for Redmi Note 5.

At those days the Snapdragon 650 was the most premium and the most powerful chipset in the midrange segment. Motorola were still in low end snapdragon 400 series with there weak ass moto g phones. Xiaomi raised the bar so high now everyone has to step up their game. I won't be surprised at all even if they decided to launch the Redmi Note 5 with Snapdragon 660 or 670 although they won't. Looking back at their glorious past even the note 5 with the Snapdragon 636 would still be a let down but it is what it is.
