Anonymous, 02 Mar 2019Ther's no official confirm on note 7 hving sony imx486 sens... moreI checked on www.kimovil.com. They normally list the sensors used in all mobiles but for the Indian version of RN7 it is listed as 'unknown'. The Chinese variant clearly has Samsung S5KGM1 mentioned.
So I think what Redmi has done is take a orange, paint it red and sell it as an apple. And get sells based on the hype around the Chinese variant which was launched first and on which most of the reviews are based.
Hmm....We can sure trust the Chinese or at least learn a few marketing tricks from them.

One upcoming device, the Realme 3 poses a real threat. it has a Mediatek P70.
Others are all above 10k, Realme 2 Pro's (SD660) base model is 13k. Motorola's SD660 offering is also around 14k. Same for Asus.
Samsung aren't even offering this much performance in this range.
Granted that the low light photography of RN7 is finished.. That we can't argue against sadly. :(

Not in 2019 when others are offering the same processor. Redmi and Xiaomi have been one step behind the 'New' competition from Honor, Realmi and Asus. And now I guess with the new M series and A series even Samsung are somewhat in the game. So Redmi devices have lost a lot of their competitive advantage in the past 2 years.
The problem for RN7 is it has just been launched and not yet on sale. And you can bet the competitors mentioned here are on the verge of launching devices with better specs, better processors and better cameras.

I still agree that Indian Version is a great deal @ Rs. 9999! We're talking Snapdragon 660, it would've been a flagship 2 years ago!
However, my humble opinion that a 3/16 GB or even 2/16GB version would've been more appropriate than changing something as intimate as camera..

My guess is that they did this to keep price below Rs. 10,000. But I don't agree with this. A better option would've been lower mah battery and weight saving, or 2/16 GB version (it has microsd, right?).
Now, they changed something as big as camera, we're not even sure if the other things (like audio quality, UI, etc.) will remain the same... Now what?

Download Google play services and play store via web. Install them and you should be able to access Google play after logging in.
