It has nothing to do with preference, it's about logic. And this logic makes no sense.
It is 100% logical to include more storage with higher RAM, and less storage with lower RAM.
Do I really need to explain this? More RAM = More Money = More Premium = More Storage.
Your logic would only make sense if both the 4GB + 128GB and 6GB + 64GB models cost the same. If that is the case, then okay fair enough.
(P.S. I looked elsewhere and apparently there is both 4GB + 64GB/128GB and 6GB + 64GB/128GB).

RN7 has better GCam support and better picture quality.
RN7 has also Bluetooth 5 with aptx-HD, powerfull processor and GPU.
RN8 is a real downgrade !!!
