Disappointed, 09 Jul 2019I have never had an android phone, ever! then I decided to ... moreHow do you know those issues are androids fault and not this particular phone if it's your first android phone?
The price of this phone is ridiculously small compared to iPhone. You could at least try a phone which is in the same price range if you want to compare those systems like that. You're being ridiculous

The low light ones are indeed better than average, though.

DarkMesa, 09 Jul 2019This review is for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 GLOBAL VERSION (... moreI agree with some of it, mostly about the design but TBH, your review is a bit biased and misleading, especially about its performance.
Even SD 710 and 835 struggle to pull 60 fps in PUBG and you say this phone, with a *under-performing* SD 660 can do that.
As far as I know, it lags/drops frames in pubg when you drive, jump or look around quickly if you play on HD graphics. Most players with this phone play on Smooth graphics for decent fps.
Running multiple apps no longer tells you
about performance of a device. Nowadays, even SD 425 phones with 1 - 1.5GB RAM (Galaxy J2 Pro) can handle YouTube + Facebook + WhatsApp + Instagram + Browser at once without closing. J2 Pro can also handle pubg fine on smooth graphics.

This review is for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 GLOBAL VERSION (4GB RAM, 42 mpx camera, 128 GB Storage) paid €200 (bought in Italy), no contract.
This phone is a steal for the price. It has a remarkable build quality, a bright and vibrant display, amazing cameras and performs delightfully.
The phone has a glass back which you might find fragile, but it's protected by Gorilla Glass 5 so it's unlikely to shatter too easily. The frame is of a premium feeling plastic which I can honestly hardly tell apart from the glass on the front and back.
The FullHD+ Display looks good even with its big dimensions (6.3"), it's sharp, bright and the colors are quite accurate. Like the back glass of the phone, the front is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5, so a screen protector isn't necessary. I personally only use the included silicon cover that's in the box, it's transparent so you can hardly notice it.
The dual rear camera is wonderful, with its 48 mpx pictures are very sharp, low light performance is very good, I've taken multiple pictures at night with desirable light conditions and they're still relatively good, they're less sharp than ones taken in bright environments but the level of noise is acceptable and the picture is plenty bright. I've taken some in dark areas of my city where there were still some source of lights near by, shots came out very bright, it made night look like an evening. The front shooter is splendid as well, selfies are sharp, though low light performance is reduced.
There isn't too much to say about performance, it's straight up flagship level. It can keep countless apps open without lagging, it performs flawlessly in games. I've been playing a lot of Mortal Kombat for up to an hour, it's a very demanding game and it heats up the device quite a bit, but without any performance loss. The frame-rate is locked on 60. I've heard of people playing PUBG on this for the same length of time without any frame drops as well, on max settings too (Others game I tested: Stardew Valley, Tuber Simulator, all run flawlessly). MIUI 10 is very good looking, and more importantly, it's very smooth all across the system, and comes with some neat features like double-tap to unlock, full-screen gestures, a screen recorder, dual apps and more.
Battery is the best I've ever put my hands on. 6 hours screen-on time is guaranteed, even on max brightness and with Bluetooth . I use adaptive brightness, which I find to be slightly too dark at times, but without ever using battery saver I can get an average of 7 hours of screen-on time (about 3 of which are heavy games), if I don't play games it's an easy 8. If you were to use battery saver you could get up to even 9. I sometimes don't even charge the device overnight, and I've been using it a lot since I got it. It goes from 10 to 100 in about 2 hours, which is impressive considering it's a 4000 MaH battery. It charges over USB-C which is a must in my opinion in 2019. It's more robust and faster than Micro USB.
The only flaw that I've been able to notice is a slight lag when pressing the navigation buttons, the lag isn't in the triggering of the action but in the vibration feedback of the phone. I use gestures anyways, which I've gotten used to in no time, and work perfectly fine. Speakers are decent too, I don't use them very often but when I do they get the job done, though they're nothing spectacular. Audio goes through the earpiece for a stereo effect as well which is nice.
Looks: The phone looks very good. The thin bezels along with the rounded corners give is a very smooth and modern look, the water drop notch never gets in the way and doesn't look too bad up there. The back of the device is flat, and the way it transitions from the frame of the device is very neat because it gives the device a slightly chunky appearance. I value looks a lot and I struggles to find a phone that doesn't have ugly antenna bands sticking around or an overly smoothed back, this phone was a blessing for me.
The phone also comes with 128 GB of Storage (about 12 reserved for system). I transferred all of my music (about 300 songs, 1.8 GB) and all of my apps to this phone, taken lots of pictures and it still has 100 GB of Storage left. It's more than you'll ever need, 64 GB is a good option if you care to save a few bucks. It can always be expanded via a Micro SD card.
There are ads when installing apps but they aren't annoying at all, I've had very annoying ads on other phones before, these are very tolerable, and they're only there when installing apps (and in a folder on the home screen which you can just remove), nothing in the lock screen, system apps or any other section of the system. It came with some pre-installed apps like Amazon, other than that it's just the following MiApps: Contacts, Calculator, Clock, FM Radio, Recorder (voice), Screen Recorder, Feedback, Scanner (For QR codes), downloads, Compass, Mi Drop, MiCommunity, MIUI Forum, Mi Video, all well sorted in their own folder on the home screen.
Other notes: Good WiFi, Mobile Data and Bluetooth connections, doesn't have NFC (mine is the GLOBAL version), the rear mounted fingerprint scanner is easy to find and as quick as it gets. I haven't tested face recognition but it's a feature, I wouldn't recommend it on a device like this since it could probably be fooled by a picture, though I can't say for sure. I set animation scale to x0.5 through Developer Options to make the device feel faster (can be done by going to settings > about phone > click "MIUI version" until it says "you're now a developer" > go back > additional settings > developer options > window animation scale, animator duration scale, transition animation scale (set all to x0.5).
Conclusion
This phone has it all. Unless you're looking for more than 1080p or an OLED Display, I don't see why you'd get any other phone but this. For $200 you cannot get a better device. This is my first Xiaomi phone and I doubt it'll be my last. The moment this breaks, it's another Xiaomi for me.

I have never had an android phone, ever! then I decided to give it a try with this phone.
-It loses signal for about 10 seconds every 2 minutes even if the screen is on.
-Bluetooth disconnects when screen times out, which makes it impossible to use bluetooth headphones.
-Wifi disconnects and the wifi logo disappears and gives me "H" instead with no apparent reason.
And so many other stupid issues which are related to android and not exclusive to this phone.
Can't wait to buy an iphone and break this piece of junk as soon as possible.
