My dad was gifted this phone boxed pack, and there is just no option anywhere to register or set fingerprint lock. The phone has no mention of fingerprint anywhere in it's settings. I tried to run the system's fingerprint registering app by installing Quickshortcutmaker, and that does show an option to register fingerprint but the app crashes when I try to register it. Also there is shit ton of Chinese bloatware apps. All the pre installed bloatware apps are in chinese with no visible option for english. Good phone tho otherwise. It's a perfect midranger.

About 2 yrs since purchase:
Gps seems to become a lot messy ,not accurate at all.Misguides you to wrong places.Tried re-calibration,but it didn't help.
The screen brightness seems to be misplaced and too loud with the text becoming rather light especially after phone's exposure to sun.

Redmi note 7's side buttons flex seems kinda weak and low quality build coz my Volume button now doesn't work anymore 🤦🏼♂️😒 mine is just 1yr old.

My redmi note 7 also used to lag a hard time that makes me want to throw it off a cliff, but just 3 days ago I finally tried to do a factory reset, and voila, things got much better..
After reset you should preview which app you need or not, installing less apps also helps too..
If you want to reset don't forget to create a back up and save it to your PC or memory card

Awesome phone.
Responsive touch, fast charging, sturdy build quality, very very fast processing, great screen resolution and PPI. This is a very good phone for playing graphic intensive games too.
It is very secure and warns on every step if you are doing something wrong.
I always hated xiaomi because I hated Chinese companies. But this handset changed my view entirely.

Miui 12 android 10 can be downloaded and updated from Xiaomi firmware updater website.
