        I have the Note 8 in my Amazon shopping cart and need to decide if it is worth switching from a Galaxy A50. The under-display fingerprint scanner pretty much ruined the A50 for me. Since Samsung didn't fix it for 2 months now, I am done with the brand.

        I have used a Xiaomi phone in the past and it wasn't the best experience with MIUI. That said, it was an imported mediatek device. Is the usability any better now? Are there issues with notifications not showing up? Thanks in advance.

          Couldn't recommend this phone more...beautiful build quality, great screen, good sound, very good cameras (install Gcam if you have problems), snappy (for non-gamers), and long battery life... What more can you ask for at this price???

But it is always the budget at hand or willingness to spend how much for a phone. At my place the Mi 9 Lite is selling for USD269 cheapest, while Redmi Note 8 is USD164 for the 4GB/64BG version.

                                Mine, bought new Redmi Note 8 4GB/128GB works fine, but I am not impressed with the screen. There is noticeable bleed, close to the edges, visible in the white screen(menus). Maybe I`m gonna use the dark menu theme, but this is for sure low quality issue. I have Huawei P Smart 2019 and Mate 10 lite, and their screens are fine, they don`t have such problems.

                                    In addition got Rs 3000 as cashback thro Amazon. So it's for Rs 7000. Unbelievable!!

                                    The charger is rated 18W but the max battery voltage is 4.43V. So unless it is configured as 2S while charging, it's 5V/3A = 15W.

                                    The supplied Charger is characterised as 5V@3A / 9V@2A / 12V@2.5A. Which is also great. The charging is at modest 0.75C. So the full charge (0-100%) time is,

                                    = 1.27 / 0.75 = ~102mins

                                    And 70% (10-80%) Charging time is = 0.7 / 0.75 = 56mins. Quite good for 4000 mAh battery.

                                    My brand new phone came with Battery at 95% of the rated capacity of 4000 mAh. Pretty good and Acceptable by Industry Standards for LiPo battery.

                                    So I'd give 5-Star Rating to Redmi Note8 for this one-day old Phone. However, the MIUI11/Android 9 OS needs to be evaluated for a year at least.
