Don't use 12.5 betas because obviously you're going to run into "problems" just wait for the stable updates, I've been using the 12.5.1 global stable version and it feels exactly like version 12.0.

I cant do 3-finger-screenshot anymore, shareme also isn't working. File manager takes forever to display images. I Really regret this update. Thinking of downgrading to 12

I have a few issues where Bluetooth is now worse and you have to crank the volume to the max if you wanna Listen, It didn't ruin the quality, Just loudness became worse. I even tried with a headphone jack and loudness is a bit worse (I have My Samsung Galaxy Buds OG and Logitech G406)

And also controller support if you play games is Janky, 2 games don't pick up the game controller or they don't do it well, I contacted Feral Interactive for their wordings about it and they responded as I'm writing this but I've heard it's solvable if you factory reset your phone, I'll try turning off MIUI Optimization but i don't think it will solve anything with gamepad issue

Looking for a phone that's not so expensive? This isn't the worst choice.
It comes with good battery life (at least for the first year or so, it depends on how you use it). The camera is nothing impressive and rather mediocre despite having a 64 megapixel lens. Performance is fine but the software is not.

Xiaomi has not optimised these phones for apps like Instagram making it feel rusty and cheap to use features.
The biggest issue I have experienced in using this phone for 2 years is that its UI bugs out often and results in glitches, freezes, apps not responding and more. Recently the speaker volume despite being set to max started reducing when watching YouTube. It does heat up particularly when fast charging.

Overall it's functional to use. Its large screen can give you an immersive experience (if you have large enough hands to reach the ends). The LCD does seem inferior at times but not that much of an issue unless you're looking for luxury features in a budget phone.

Samsung's A51 is a considerable option if you're looking at this phone.

A major update always comes with a bug while time passes by, bugs minimized because of stability improvements (minor) updates. Hope that before this coming sept they release a new minor update for the bugs. Let's hope for a better and optimized miui guys! cheer up!

It's the first device I've had where a major update from a company hasn't deliberately slowed down my device to make me buy an upgrade. The worst was when I owned an iPhone 4 and updated to iOS 7 and basically made it unusable.

I bought this nov. 25 2020, I don't have any problem at all except small bugs that's it but when I updated my rn8pro to miui 12.5.2.0 (stable) global this august 4 I encountered a lot of bugs the big thing for me is when I play pubg. Before the update pubg is smooth without hiccups & render is normal but it goes back again to 55 to 60(fps), but now I experience some hiccups. In one game there's 2 to 3 times that I encounter the game freezes up to 2seconds. Hiccups while playing is random the worst I experience is when I push a squad then it freeze like 1.5 sec I almost die in the game. Hope that this will be resolved as soon as many users reported bugs about this update. Btw I tried a lot of tricks in the settings and tried to repair pubg but the hiccups wont disappear.

I have a problem with my phone my sd card not recognizing after the update, Xiaomi was sucks or lack of experience, Samsung was better

I have redmi note 8 pro, I recently got android 11 here in UK, this is really a very good phone by Xiaomi, the nly shortage is about network bands, it has 11 bands, if it had had 16 or 19 global bands, it would have been much better for network reception, it is still goodas the global version, but because of lack of some global bands; such as band 26, 41, 66, 12, 17, 66,it struggles for network reception in some places, despite thatI I am still staisfied because all its specs are very good, battery, camera, screen resolution, speed.......

my oem lcd screen rom cannot be updated by miui 12.5 or android 11 unlike stock paanel from xiaomi meaning you can't diy lcd screen anymore with this update as the touch screen function will be disabled.

i hope xiaomi can fix this by allowing legacy rom on miui 11 as i can't downgrade to the previous version and can only use the phone with a mouse.

i've send my feedback to xiaomi but no replies.

i hope for an option to roll back the update so i can use the touch screen again.

this iis a known problem on xda forum.

so when you diy lcd don't update the miui or the touchscreen will not work.
