skywalker, 04 Jan 2024Agreed. Excellent post, imo.Unfortunately, yep seeing how they're removing the 3.5mm jack and the FM radio. The peak is probably the Redmi Note 10 Pro, and this one (Redmi Note 8 Pro) when put next to flagships of the same year (2019) looks quite decent at least just going by the numbers of the benchmarks.

I bought it 2 years ago, and in the summer of 2023 it got very hot and the battery puffed up. It was a good phone for my money.

Bought this on dec 2019 after my iPhone 5s broken.. now it has been 4 years use this phone. I never update the system. Lol. It still works great. Hope it can last long until 10 years more.

a GOAT.
installed the pixel experience rom a few months back, and the phone works flawlessly, never shows its age.
with the gcam, the rn8p's camera is comparable to (and sometimes better than) s21 fe.
the battery is holding out strong.
it was an honor using it for the past 3 years.

It has no screen flickering, PWM, at all, and that is the reason why I bought this phone, it is perfect "smooth" for eyes! It is perfect for reading books... on the phone in the dark before going to sleep!

Does someone know why some are stuck on MIUI 12 and there's no way to update them to MIUI 12.5, as either the updater offers no OTA updates and manual ones give an error message?

After an year and a half or two, it started to have occasionally a problem. The phone would both opening and closing continuously (bootlooping) and volume staying at zero. Also, I have another Xiaomi, this time Redmi 9, with the same issue. I don't know if its a hardware or software problem, but its not pleasant.

Bought in October 2019. Still working like the day one. No issues no complains. Best phone I ever had since 2004.
