Was good for the first day or two. Now the phone lags, apps freeze and the phone is unresponsive. The worst thing however is the keyboard. It auto fills words that aren't even close to what you're trying to say, the positioning and layout is terrible, and if typing quickly you might find yourself sending a bunch of sloth stickers for some reason. Stay away from this phone unless you want to break it in rage

This phone is the worse phone I've ever used,the lagging of this phone is really frustrating.i dnt advice anyone to buy this phone its trash

Redmi Note 9 Helio is purely garbage. This is the FACT. My Redmi Note 5AI done better then this.
Blame Redmi/Xiaomi for not utilize or optimize this phone. And they wont, because they have a lot and more phone to release than caring about this phone.
Helio is actually could be good and best budget chipset, if any phone is optimized of how to use it. Like Sony done on their midrange and flagship phone before.
If anyone ever want to try buy this, please, DON'T! Get Redmi Note 9S or 9Pro instead. Of course, they have their own issue too, but not too much like this garbage.
Or better get Poco X3 Pro or Note 10/10 Pro instead.

I've been using this phone for 7 months now and I can totally tell what are the pro's and cons of this mobile unit, Xiaomi Redmi Note 9.Overall, it is a very good phone. 4/128gb is not bad. I had over 5k+ photos and 200+videos plus other apps, games, movies and I still have more storage left. The rear camera works well and I love it especially with the bokeh effect. Using the rear camera for videos is not bad as well. During nighttime, it takes good shots too but you need to stay still to get a good photo. The performance for gaming works good. Smooth and not laggy. It works fine specially for mobile legends. Battery? the best. I can use it for 1day and a half. For gaming, this would last for atleast a day depending on how heavy you use your phone.
The things that I don't like on this phone is the front camera. It is blurry and the background has a little noise. I love selfies, and if you are a selfie person? you might not like this unit. It freezes sometimes and if you have so many apps, the refresh rate will reduce and the phone will become laggy. It heats up sometimes especially when you are playing games for llong period of time.

Worst ever phone. Waste of money please don not waste your money on this third class note 9 phone. Camera sucks software sucks. Lagging as hell. Just piece of shit this phone is

MediaTek is not closing anytime soon.
MediaTek are catering for paying cheaper market.
It is not a trash. Just the price it is paid for.
Those number ain't meaningless.
Their chip did run the whole computing work.
Not everyone are into mobile gaming.
Some prefer PS5 on their 84" TV.
MediaTek is enough to do your daily task like receiving email, play video, conference call, more than enough.
If money not an issue, getting a gold plated phone can be a reason to buy a phone.
Price for the job & the trade off that decide.

Don't complain too much. It is a mid-range entry & it work like charm as a dependable mid range phone.
Using it as my secondary device to login diff game account. It serve the purpose. You want complain so much, get bionic chip device. Happy for the battery

Has anyone used this phone on T-Mobile network in the US? I can't get it to connect it to T-Mobile's 4G network. It does connect to the 2G network. If I search for the network manually, I see T-Mobile 4G on the list. I can force it to register on the 4G network, but in a few minutes it unregisters and then connects to the 2G network. The specs say that the phone supports the T-Mobile bands (2 & 4).
