Noah.s Dad, 24 Dec 2020I got mine three days ago, I got the global version, it... moreHi, I am from India. I have been using the Poco M2 Pro/ Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global)/ Redmi Note 9 Pro (India) for last 3 months. Extremely happy with the purchase hence thought to share my views. Xiaomi is creating a lot of confusion in consumer minds by launching the same phone under its different sub brands. After digging a bit I found the same phone is sold in different countries with minor spec differences.
First, let us move from lowest to highest variant to see the real spec differences:
Redmi Note 9 Pro (India): Phone + 48MP main rear shooter + 16MP selfie + 18W wall charger
then,
Poco M2 Pro (India): Phone + 48MP main shooter + 16MP selfie + 33W wall charger
then,
Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global): Phone + 64MP main shooter + 16MP selfie + 30W wall charger
then,
Redmi Note 9 Pro Max (India): Phone + 64MP main shooter + 32MP selfie + 33W wall charger
The same phone is sold in different countries with subtle changes like camera sensors & design language. Like M2 Pro (India) following Note 9 Pro (Global) design language to differentiate it from the other Redmi Note 9 Pro variants in India. After a lot of though I settled for the Poco M2 Pro [6/64 GB] @ INR 11.4K [$153] under offers from an online retailer. To me the Poco M2 Pro is a phenomenal device for casual users. To me it justifies on all ends.
What I like about the Poco M2 Pro:
1) For its price, the phone looks very premium with dual glass sandwich design while phones from other brands offers plastic back in the same price bracket. I own the Green color variant of M2 Pro at it looks gorgeous while coping from exterior design of Redmi Note 9 Pro (Global) variant.
2) Unbeatable peak performance with Snapdragon SD720G SoC & 6GB LPDDR4x RAM, at just $150. If you are a casual user it is one of the fastest phone for its price. If you are looking for sustained high performance or gaming performance look for flagships. They have full metal frame, some kind of inbuilt copper heat chamber & multi layer graphite & copper sheets all of which costs money and helps in proper heat dissipation from the SoC and RAM enabling sustained high performance.
3) Very power efficient phone, with the frugal SD720G built on newer 8 nm fabrication process providing very high mileage with the battery. Its main competitor, be it Mediatek G90T or G95 found in RealMe phones are more powerful but is made up of much older 12 nm process hence consume more battery and heats up considerably. With my own personal experience I have always found new technology always wins over raw performance as it is kinder to the battery providing higher longevity and the phone lasts for years.
4) Huge, Full HD, good quality display for viewing multimedia content and web surfing. Ample bright. I love displays with no notches & punch holes however there is one single punch hole in M2 Pro on the top middle. It would have been better if its location was on the corner, but manufacturing cost will increase in that case.
5) Monster 5,020 mAh battery. Charge it and forget it.
6) Bonkers charging speeds with the supplied 33 watts fast charger. For such a large battery, 0 to 100% under 1 hrs 12 mins. Insane.
7) Very mature Xiaomi MIUI 12 UI skin over Android 10. The MIUI skin with its functionality & intuitiveness is right up there with Huawei's EMUI. Additionally Poco own system launcher safeguards all its users from ads, a huge plus. MIUI & EMUI to me are the two best Android skins currently originating from China. Oppo's ColorOS, Vivo's FuntouchOS & Meizu's FlymeOS lags a little behind in terms of overall feel and polish but provide all the features of the best two.
8) Quad camera setup at the back and a single selfie shooter in a $150 phone. For its price its punches well above and shoots images with respectable quality & resolution. Much better than similarly prices Realme's.
9) I used M2 Pro headphone jack with 5 over-the-ear headphones & 7 IEMs I own. None of them had any issues and the sound is just fine. No issues here. Just don't expect audiophile grade audio quality through audio jack, commonly found in flagship phones like LG G8X, Vivo NEX S and so on.
10) Wifi & Bluetooth speeds are just fine and observed no abnormality here.
11) Using a JIO sim with 4G VoLTE enabled, call reception & loudness are good.
At the end I want to stress M2 Pro (6/64 GB) is a great all rounder phone at an unthinkable low price of around $150. It has premium built & good performance in hand. It is meant for the masses and casual gamer. For heavy users, pro gamer this is not the ideal phone as one need to invest in true flagships and at-least get a Snapdragon SD8XX lineup device for sustained hi-end gaming experience. The gaming performance of the Redmi Note 8 Pro or Poco M2 Pro is nowhere near to my LG G8X with Snapdragon 855 or even the Vivo NEX S with Snapdragon 845.

I got mine three days ago, I got the global version, it's a very nice device in general. Bright big screen even under sunlight, excellent performance, no issues with multi tasking, an exceptional camera within this price range, no issues with connections and networks, an exceptional battery life, very fast charging.
I got mi air2 basic as well and it connected directly with a pop-up animation.
No douts, the best choice in this price range, what ever you want from a mobile device, you'll find it here except tow things:
1- an amoled display
2- you couldn't connect it directly with HDMI cable to the TV
Everything else you can do it with this beast.

It really depends on your usage or what you want.
You want a full screen and a fast chipset? F2 pro
You want to save some cash and maybe get the same thing but with a few changes? Note 9 pro

Hi everyone! I hope you are all well :-)
Could you please help me choose between this Xiaomi model and Poco F2 Pro ? I am aware that Poco has better display and chipset, but is it worth it paying for 100$ more(In my country at least) for him ? Important things for me are, CPU, camera and battery, and browsing the internet i haven't noticed that Poco has much better camera then Redmi Note 9 Pro. Is it the overall impression better and thus profitable buying Poco F2 Pro instead Redmi Note 9 Pro ?
Thanks everybody in advance for you opinions and advices, I hope you all stay safe and healthy :-) Wish you happy Christmas holidays.
P.S. Sorry for grammar mistakes, english is not my native language.
