NTeg, 18 Feb 2014Hi everyone, Does this device really have an IR (Infra-Red)... moreI checked out the Xolo website, but it does not list Infra-Red port as one of its features. I have also watched video reviews of the Xolo Tegra Note but I did not see any infra-red port.

AnonD-226398, 17 Feb 2014hi, you yourself commend the tab for performance and than ... moreHi, You are quite correct in the fact that a sim slot is very preferable to those on the go for accessing internet. nVidia made a niche product in Tegra Note. Kudos to them for keeping the price low in relation to the astounding hardware packed inside (including the stylus). In order to cut cost they had to forego a few features like screen resolution, RAM and yes, sim slot. The tab has been created to be mainly a gaming device, in which they succeeded magnificently. This is one of the most powerful tablets in the world with a few compromises.
So, while I also feel the need for a sim slot, I know that the target audience is different than normal tab users. As far as the gaming performance goes, nothing even comes close to this tab. I am thinking of buying this in a couple of months (i will be mainly using it for reading ebooks while my son will be using it for games).

Hi everyone, Does this device really have an IR (Infra-Red) port?... I doubt it, but Great! if it does. GSM Arena says it does... but it is not mentioned in the Tegra Note 4 specifications of other websites. I have yet to aquire this beast.

Hi all, I did leave a small bomb for discussions didn't I. Yes I agree... the wish list can go on... 2GB Ram, better display (like Nexus 2013), sharper, better camera, 32GB on-board storage, Android 4.4, Sim / 3G slot with the power of Tegra 4.... Now, wouldn't that be the Tab of dreams. While it is a highly possible dream, I doubt that it can come at the current price point.... at least for now. I still think it is a great tablet and I have to wait a few more days for mine to arrive.

you yourself commend the tab for performance and than recommend a 5k tab.
you might assume I need a tab for calling. No, I don`t but I would like a sim slot for net connectivity, other wise it is pricey for me,for my needs.
Launching a prodcut with just wi-fi connectivity in a country like India is not great plan, unless u release a product like nexus7. Glad they included a MicroSD card.

Indians..most of them who use a hi-end phone or tab do go for specs. It is atleast a 2 yr investment for any middle class person. And will look for a decent price slab.
people do buy 5k tabs according to their needs and budget, but most save money to buy such things. so yes..still pricey..

Yes, with the slot in the tab body it eliminates a need to carry a dongle along with it. But I personally don`t want calling facilities(others might)..
I want to surf the web on the go, and India doesn`t have any free wi-fi spots available except for CCD or McDonalds..
The tab is a wonderful one, screen is ok for me, not big on taking great pics with tablets.. So it does work for me.. as mentioned by Anupam, 2 gb ram would just nail it for me as the tab to buy..even without the sim slot.
                  :)

you do know that the tablet would be used for things other than gaming and movies.
and you also know, that India isn`t a place with wi-fi options available. with a sim slot, it is easy to surf net.
And yes without that, pricing is higher. You might speak with a techie `s perspective, but i am speaking with a common man perspective, that wants a sim slot and decent performance.
and for your 5k tab comment, even u know u r kidding..

For me... I like the fact that it is an NVidia product with a mind-blowing performance even when compared to the newer 2014 products. The CPU and GPU does the job. Expandable memory and Stylus has added to the charm. You know I am the artistic type and love a stylus. I have ordered an EVGA Tegra Note 7 which should be arriving around the last week of Feb. The two share the same hardware features. I am excited. I do care about the display, but I think this should suffice. I am for performance and love things to be speedy.

NTeg, 20 Jan 2014So little adoption by Indians..... I thought this was a gem... moreMost of the Indians do not go into details as to what makes a tablet tick. For most of them price is the main consideration. They think that if they can get a tablet for 5000/- why to go for a Rs. 15,999/- tablet. In fact they will also get sim enabled voice calling tablet for 5000/-.

Unless you root your tab and/or install a 3rd party app for 3g dongle.
If only nexus had given a microSD option with a sim slot, this would have been the ipad killer in India.

the problem with the tab is that it does not have a sim slot. In India, public wi-fi is not available easily. therefore an option of internet on the go is a must. using a sim card to access 2g/3g networks.
Also the pricing is on a higher side,at 15,999 INR.
It is a big deal to invest so much money, hence we have to think many times.
Hence the less love for this tab.
