Got one for my wife from a local online site today (infibeam). Some surprises, namely a flip-cover and a okay-ish screen guard and a free football (wasn't expecting that). The packaging and materials look pretty good and the fit and finish is excellent.

And now the kicker. The manufacturing date was June (so pretty recent), and the phone came pre-loaded with KitKat 4.4.2. I was all prepared to download the ROM and had been browsing a bunch of forums. But this was a genuine surprise.

Anyway the phone looks good and has been behaving well so far (no call issues or heating or wifi issues). I changed the runtime to ART and it seemed to happen pretty quickly. Post reboot, I didn't see any recompilation of apps either. A bit strange. Wife seems super excited. Will post a detailed review in couple of weeks.

            One caveat
The bottom button has one home , 1 back and another button, which seems pretty useless. I thought it would list me all open applications, but it dosn't. Can someone throw more light on this. Its the first button from left.

In good lighting the photos are fine. But with Kitkat you get an option where from back camera you can click photos by just saying Cheese or Capture!

Hi, found a solution to the LED notification issue.

Installed a widget from play store called 'Notification Light Widget' (from Motorola - seems it was a common problem in Moto G Kitkat also). The widget lets us switch the LED on or off. Mine was off when I first checked. I switched it on via the widget. Now it seems to be working fine.

I'm not happy with the KitKat update because I've had connectivity issues with 3g and WiFi,but mostly because frequently used apps like maps and aldiko reader keep crashing. Is there any way to fix the app crashing problem?
Also I hate the stock android keyboard. They should have kept the Google keyboard.

XOLO Q1010i-I can't compare this phone as this my first phone in this price segment. I paid Rs.11300 for this after discount on Ebay. Have been using it since 20 May.
First of all about Kitkat update-My phone is working great on Kitkat there is no problem. Initially there was problem of Bluetooth connectivity but I moved all files to SD card and it was somehow solved. I would recommend to move all apps to SD card before updating. Most of the problems related to Kitkat are due to Kitkat itself and not of the phone. Some apps won't work fin after update, just re-install them, if they are compatible with Kitkat, they will work fine.
The camera is great, in Jellybean it was not so good indoors but in Kitkat it clicks more bright photos indoors. Outside photos are crisp and bright.Flash is very powerful. Low light photos might not be so good. Front camera is average.
The display is good, although I wished that the brightness could be lowered more.
Performance is fine, it doesn't lag but I have not played any high-end games yet.
Design looks great, just the metal design around the camera looks odd to me, but everyone's perception differs.
Sound Quality was low before but I did something which somehow increased it a little-i think it was turning off Xolo Power but now I have it on and the sound is still increased.
Headphones are of bad quality but at the service center they just check whether there is sound coming through it or not. After Kitkat you can hear songs more clearly, but certainly not how clear they are supposed to be.
Heating Problem was there in the initial days but now it is no more.
3g runs fast. I haven't still tried WiFi and video streaming.
Call audio volume and quality has improved after updates.
Touch is good, but I have had problems with it, I think it was the phone not responding but now there is no problem of that kind.
My conclusion is that I will recommend this phone. There seemed to be very few problems but now they are all gone with update and some just randomly disappeared. It will work fine don't worry. For any queries about the phone, you can ask me here anytime.
