YouTube Premium now available in 10 more countries

YouTube users in 10 countries woke up to find that they can now subscribe to YouTube Premium. This paid service removes ads (without having to fight Google’s anti-ad blocker tricks), but also allows you to download videos for offline play and to listen to videos with the player in the background.

Here are the 10 new countries that were added to the list of Premium membership locations (the full list is here):

  • Azerbaijan
  • Jamaica
  • Kazakhstan
  • Libya
  • Morocco
  • Réunion
  • Tanzania
  • Uganda
  • Yemen
  • Zimbabwe

This is a paid service, of course, but you might also also get it as part of the Google One bundle. This is available in 8 of the countries above (full list here), with Libya and Réunion missing. Students should have a look at the YouTube Student Membership offer to get Premium with a discount – all 10 countries are on the list. You need to be verified as a student by SheerID, more details here.

Note that YouTube Premium also gives you ad-free access to YouTube Music, a music streaming service with 100 million songs (you can download tracks for offline listening too).

Total godsent of a extension. YouTube can't disallow adblockers or say no to clients wanting to watch videos with it so so they slow down the website. It's fast for me, though.

It’ll cost a cool 1,000,000,000,000 ZWD, lol.
