This is one of the best looking, yet most buggy devices I've ever used. Definitely needs more time in the oven. Performance while fast is full of hiccups throughout the UI left and right. Open the app switcher, you'll see font over top of apps while clearing them. Switching default apps? While possible, the system apps must be hard coded as even when switched the phone occasionally thinks that you didn't swap the default phone app. Swapping the default keyboard? Yeah you can but the phone needs to be restarted straight away.
For people wondering this phone can be used through Google Fi perfectly fine. Gets 5G in the US, but can't say I'd recommend just yet unless you just really want to try a Snapdragon 8 gen 2 phone that's cheaper than the S23 line.

I have a RM 7s Pro, I love the design of the 8 Pro, the sharper corners, and the big processor upgrade from the 8+ Gen 1 to the 8 Gen 2. Only thing that is keeping be at the 7s Pro is the screen refresh rate, RM used to be on top of the food chain with the 165hz refresh rate.

Verizon's C-band is killing it right now speed wise and am upgrading from my Pixel 5 just because Google never enabled Cband. T-Mobile's midband 2.5ghz is fantastic as well!

Anonymous, 23 Jan 2023So this phone is not useable in the USA?It is. Just not strong 5g on TMobile or at&t. Probably most carriers. It doesn't make a huge difference for a lot of people who live in larger cities

mike, 24 Jan 2023imagine how well this thing can run ps2 emulationIt's not like you need 8gen2 to run PS2 emulation fine. Anything starting from 865 runs it fine at a 2x-4x resolution. And on a 6 inch screen, you don't really anything more than 2x the native resolution.
