Post Scriptum;
For all those who experience the touvh problem at the corners of the screen;
- it's an AOSP keyboard problem.
Just install the keyboard: Simply Keyboard, which you can find in the F-Droid repository.
It's exactly the AOSP keyboard, but more functional and without the problem of missed touches at the corners.
(at least in my case it worked)

For all the brothers who are in possession of this wonderful jewel of a smartphone:
I personally come from another jewel previous to this one, a Realme GT 2 Pro, which gave me many moments of joy, a great smartphone for what I have used it for.
About ten days ago, I decided to buy the ZTE Nubia Z50 which I am now using to write this personal opinion of mine.
Fast data in hand, I define it as a worthy spiritual successor of the Realme GT 2 Pro that I had, excellent screen, powerful hardware (104 fps in my case, in GFX Car Chase on screen), reduced consumption, system fluidity, no lag or punctuation.
Operating system free of unnecessary bloatware, very clean and respectful of user privacy.
Very fast in changing cells and for the quality and stability of the signal, as regards the modem.
These are the aspects that struck me the most.
As regards the system language, I can confirm that with the latest updates, the translation of the interface and the OS has almost completely been translated.
There are still some entries to be translated, but I hope that with the next updates, they will also resolve this inconvenience.
Now let's move on to the sore point (at least in my specific case), I define it as a critical bug, as it creates a lot of difficulty for me to manage it.
The Critical Bug in question concerns the BT pairing of any headphones with a built-in microphone.
Lately, I've been trying to pair some Denon PerL Pro (so, we're not talking about cheap headphones).
The pairing seems to be successful, listening to music is great, but the SERIOUS BUG arrives the moment I receive any phone call:
- The phone rings, but the call is not transferred to the headset.
THE CALL IS NOT TRANSFERRED TO THE HEADPHONES!
(and therefore, not even the sound)
Fortunately, in my case, I found a patch;
- Manually enter the BT settings, deactivate the item:
- Phone calls,
and subsequently reactivating this item.
So I assume the problem is in the ZTE software that manages the BT part.
The other problem concerns the management of DTS-X Ultra:
In my specific case, it DOES NOT work, or rather, only the part concerning the automatic sound customization works. (very similar to what happens in the software management of a good pair of TWS like the Denon)
For the rest, nothing works, not even the "Snapdragon" equalizer.
Once these two SERIOUS problems have been eliminated (BT management in voice and sound calls and DTS-X Ultra equalization), in my specific case, I will finally be happy to have donated my money to ZTE.
Otherwise, however, I will be happy to return to Realme.
I REPEAT, this is a spectacular smartphone, but those two BUGS, I just CANNOT stomach them, especially now that we are almost in 2024!
Thank you all.

Marcio, 06 Sep 2023I was looking for almost 2 years for a worthy replacement f... moreWorth mentioning that the edge DOES have a touch response, but not on a direct input. It will work if you start the input somewhere else amd you drag it to the edge, you'll see there's actual touch response.
Also, this is a deliberate software choice and the hardware itself would be capable of providing almost normal screen sensitivity there. Why they didn't do it is beyond me.
Also, while it does get a bit hotter than it's competitors, it's also smaller and with less metal. I come from a SD 888 which got so hot you would not believe it, you needed to use a case or it was too hot to hold with your bare hand.
This is not the case here, it doesn't get anywhere near as hot.
Btw, I have the latest OTA update and I still only have English and Chinese languages so... idk.
Lastly, the leather back is beautiful and so worth it.
The thing that I really disliked is that the gyroscope gets kinda messes and Google Maps sometimes points at rhe wrong direction it should, and that as these Chinese phones run some sort of mini play services version, location history doesn't work at all and google voice assistant doesn't work with a locked screen.
Good phone overall but if I could go back in time, I would have pickes one with a flat screen and headphone jack. The multimedia experience would just be better fitting for my particular use case.

I'm not sure how others got "multiple languages" or "google play store" with updates, but I'm currently on MyOS13.0.19MR1 and I haven't received any of those.

Marcii, 07 Sep 2023The 80watt charger comes inside the box of the phone.
The ... moreThe dead zone setting doesn't do anything, it's still annoying, hwnce why I had to use SwiftKey and move the keys away from the curve.
It would be better if they let us, the end users, whether we want full sensitivity, not that half assed setting that barely does anything. Samsung lets you do that.
Also, for some reason, in an update they removed the option to use the phone "notchless", meaning there was a black bar on the portions of the screen to the left and right of the punch hole camera.
Maybw it was buggy, but again, they honored the modern smartphone manufacturer tradition of letting corporations decide for us...

Ayy, 06 Sep 2023Hey man yeah i read ur comment, also ive found the link on ... moreThe sender gives you an EU adapter with it. You just plug the 80w charger to the adapter and all done! The charging speed is amazing, haven't tested the time from 0-100 but should be a little over 30min.
From 0-50% battery it took me 15min.
The Poco F5 doesn't have a snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and has a plastic frame and even worse, plastic back. Cameras are ok but way worse than Nubia.
The Redmi K60 ultra uses the high end mediatek chipset which is fine. Has a rather good screen with higher resolution, higher colour range and more than double the brightness but it's an OLED instead of amoled. OLED are way more prone to burn-in than amoled.
The K60 does lose in the camera department to the Nubia and obviously it has a plastic frame and plastic back. There have been complains about the Redmi K60 ultra shutting down because of the high temperature.
It does have good features like 120w charging, IP water resistance and good pricing.
But the Nubia also have great features, there's DTS:Ultra (you have to manually activate) that boost sounds up to 93 decibals, it's insanely loud and one of the loudest I've heard from any smartphone so far
The best tho is that it comes with usb 3.1, which means you can plug it from usb to HDMI directly to your TV or Monitor.
Stating the obvious, the Nubia is clearly the better looking from the bunch, feels premium because of the glass back and curved screen.
Also the near stock android UI was one of the main reasons why I wanted the Nubia, I hate the Xiaomi UI, even tho the quick access do look similar.
The price was a big factor as well. Overall, Nubia Z50 is right there next to the top tiers Samsung, OnePlus, Xiaomi. While I can't say the same about the other 2.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2023nubia official dtore on aliexpress has the 80w charger, wha... moreThe 80watt charger comes inside the box of the phone.
The curved screen is rather accentuated, it has a really strong curve, so to minimize false typing they limited the touch at the bottom half of the curve.
I would rather have full touch response on all the curve but there's no option to allow that.
I must say the typing experience is still as good as a flat screen, no issues whatsoever. You have a slider to control the touch deadzone and setting it to the minimum helps. Standard comes at 3 I think but I set it to 0 since I always use a case.
Overall, I'm really impressed with the phone, my first curved screen and it looks really premium and good in the hand. No sharp edges.

Ayy, 06 Sep 2023Hey man yeah i read ur comment, also ive found the link on ... morenubia official dtore on aliexpress has the 80w charger, what do you mean?
Also, the curved edge has some sort of hard-coded miminized sensitivity on it so typing can be frustrating unless you use SwiftKey and resize the keyboard laterally.
Just because of that I'd say get the poco. If you don't game then the curved display sensitivity issue is not a big deal.

But theyre saying in the description that you get a 20w eu charger. Which sucks since the phone supports 80w. Im thinking about whether to get this phone, or the redmi k60 ultra or the poco f5. Any advice anyone? Thanks by the way

Since it's within the EU you don't pay any tax whatsoever, the price is still at 339 (discount 20%) euros with about 1.50e for transportation and thats it.
I'm the only one there who put a review with pictures
I suggest to grab it now. And there are multiple languages with the recent update.
It's a no brainer.

I was looking for almost 2 years for a worthy replacement for my trusted OnePlus 5T (6 years owning it) I finally pulled the trigger and got this phone mainly because of specs, pricing and curved screen.
This is my first phone with a curved display and I love it, it feels premium and looks better than the pictures do.
A few details about the Nubia Z50:
It has every language available, you will need to update the phone, you get the notification the first 10min after starting it.
It basically has no bloatware, I only had to uninstall 4-5 apps and that's it.
It's a rather clean and simple UI, it's the way I like it.
I got the 12gb ram 256 gb black version and yes, the frame is plastic. Does the frame feel cheap, yes! Is it obvious to the naked eye? Nope. The case hides anyway.
The phone is rather sturdy, trying to bend it doesn't crack or anything nor lets me bend it, of course I didn't go overboard but I did apply some force. I know my OnePlus 5T did bend a tad ever so slightly.
So yes, it's plastic but it's definitely a high quality one.
The screen, it gets to 1K nits, definitely brighter than my 5T but I was expecting more, but it gets the job done, no deal breaker here as well.
It's a wonderful OLED screen without a doubt, you barely see any bezels, that was a huge upgrade.
It has always on display or you can simply move the phone and for a few seconds it shows you time and notification, pretty handy.
The screen supports 60, 120 and 144hz, no 90hz sadly so only Extreme setting in PUBG, I have to see if with gxtools I can force it.
The colours are pretty good and there's a slider you can put it more vibrant or pop the blue or red more.
The cameras are pretty good and solid, even when I shot a couple of pictures thinking they were blurry, after looking at the picture it wasn't blurred at all, nice processing from Nubia, I'm impressed.
The selfie camera for me is average...
The battery is outstanding and the 80watt charger does a terrific job, I was afraid it would take a long time to charge but it charged faster than I could finish a family guy episode.
The screen on the edges don't have any response, that's a downsides for me, there's a settings that you can but from 0-10 touch deadzone (0=minimum 10=maximum) even puting it to 0 there's absolutely no touch response on the curved glass, that was a HUGE bummer, makes typing so much harder. But there is always a turn around using other keyboard apps.
Doing an antutu benchmark version 10 I did get 1529942 score but it did get hot rather fast. Didn't really like for a new phone getting that hot so clearly that's not a heavy gaming device but casual gaming it's perfect.
The vibration motor is simply fantastic and the UI is super responsive, going from 120hz to 144hz I saw literally no difference, so, save yourself battery and set it to 120.
There's is Dolby Atmos(WOW) and a complete gaming UI that monitors FPS, temperature, screen record, etc.. Well done Nubia!
What else, I love the design and I absolutely love the back camera array, looks premium, sleek yet powerful.
The sides of the phone fit perfectly in the hand and doesn't hurt at all, the screen is really curved making it contact to the frame and back glass feel like you're touching a round object, so intensive use won't give you pain. Only the pinky will hurt a little bit because of the phones weight.
Another thing to consider is that the back glass is REALLY slippery, and I mean like soap with water slippery, a case is a requirement. Where I ordered it from they only had the black version or else I would have gotten the green with faux leather but I do like the black design. In direct sunlight it has a dark violet tone to it.
Wifi and network connectivity is on point, 5G working flawlessly here in Portugal, no issues whatsoever with my internet provider.
Overall, I was sceptic with this phone is a beauty that is definitely hiding a beast. This phone even tho it costs half and sometimes a third of other flagship out there just yells premium when putting it alongside those on a table. Sure it doesn't have an IP rating, Wireless charging or 2k screen but I'm able to live without those treats considering the price I paid of measly 440 euros included shipping and tax, this was an absolute bargain!
Another thing that impressed me was how quick It was to transfer data from my old phone to this, every google service is working (haven't tried Android Auto yet) but I had no issues at all. The GPS signal is one of the fastest I've seen, never losing even on mountain roads, impressive.
All in all, I recommend this phone to everyone who is willing to upgrade their 2 year old phones and want a phone that is good looking, top tier specs, near flagship level cameras for a decent price, this is the phone for you.
This is the flagship killer that I and probably you were looking for! This is a keeper for me and gets a huge thumbs up for the excellent work that Nubia team put into this, and at that price range too. Makes you really wonder the ignorance of most people thinking that spending 1k gets you all the bells and whistles of a supposed flagship. Going for the most known 2 brands that are obviously overpriced only to gain status and acceptance of other people but then, stare at your phone with confusion and don't know how this phone is snappier and better looking. Gets me everytime :)
