jsoprano75, 02 Jan 2025LOL, sure they're the best brand if you're okay w... moreTo be honest its really up to you because I been on Android 12 for long time and before that I was on Android 9 for like since 2018 on Huawei Mate 10 Pro. Once there is something wrong then I would upgrade but everything works. I still have some apps on the Huawei Mate 10 Pro that works. I would never rush on upgrading because I learn my experience from Windows.
If it's about security then just don't rely on phones even its Apple, Google or Samsung. In fact they still sell data to other countries. It doesn't make sense that makes me think that its really about money than security.
Best combination is always PC + Linux distros. Companies always come up with excuses to buy there products that is toxic world of consumerism. In fact I would get the Steam Deck even though its a gaming device but its still Arch Linux based distro that you can still get apps for non-gaming uses like LibreOffice, or Open Office.
I have seen people use this on the go. Its optional though but its there for people who hate to rely on big companies' ecosystem. Computing took a step backwards because of Apple, Samsung and Google. Mid 2000s is actually more free than mid 2010s or now.
My combination is Tuta and Mega cloud. Also every time I get a new phone I have a gmail account that is just there to log in while I use those services. I completely hate streaming services because they force monopolies.
Smartphones uses got easy no matter what because most people do is social media like almost 90% of the time which all the phones can do.
Vote with your wallet not loyalty.

Sin, 29 Dec 2024Amazing flagship phone Only catch is under display camera... moreLOL, sure they're the best brand if you're okay with only getting 1 Android update. I bought a ZTE device (Axon 40 Ultra), but never again! Phone came out the same year as the S22 Ultra, and its still stuck on Android 13. Plus the under display camera quality is awful. Other than that, they make solid devices that you can only use for like 1 or 2 years. I should have bought the S22 Ultra. But as they say, hindsight is always 20/20. You're better off with proven commodities like Apple, Samsung and Google who will give you 7 years of software updates. Not that everyone keeps their phone for that long, but at least you have that option if you really love your phone.

Of a small broken spot of screen

I bought the starry night model and I have two questions for you.
1) I can't get Google Assistant to work with the screen off and locked. 2) I can't find the "starry night" wallpaper that is presented in the sales brochures. What is then drawn on the back of the smartphone. Thanks to all!

main camera is....comparable, may... moreI have a s23ultra and before that i had Note 20 ultra. This phone is better. Ok, it doesn't have a polished UI like Samsung but it is simple and u can go with third party open source apps. I recently bought the Oppo Find X8 pro and test drove it for 2 weeks with their watch but it is inferior in some aspects regarding multimedia connections and options when it comes to chosing audio output or switching from a device to another. Nubia suits me very well, it has all the stuff i need and gives you room for customisation via 3rd apps. Camera does not excells but the price and hardware specs makes it unbeatable at the moment.
I hope Nubia takes notice and keeps the software updated and brings new functionalities, they really have a receipe for success but it need to be polished some more. The selfie camera is doing a good job in decent light conditions, even better than the s23 ultra selfie camera. A tiny led installed somewhere somehow on the front, would make a huge difference. For the majority of people this would make an exceptional daily driver as it is auper snappy, has great battery and charging capabilities, bypass charging, no bugs whatsoever with over 250 different apps installed on it and used heavily. I would love to have the chance to review the Redmagic and some other phones from Nubia, hell, even to provide help with the translations for the menus. I would love to see this brand gaining more traction as they make beautiful and solid phones. All my friends admired this phone, no exception, with 2 of them even considering switching from iphone 13 to Nubia's Z70 Ultra.

Anonymous, 18 Dec 2024the older z60 has all ois in its triple xamera...newer z70 ... moregot mine yesterday.
in comparison to s23 ultra -> main camera in "auto" is way better at reproducing colors and way worse in low-light (looks like software issue to me).
In pro mode it gets nice in low-light due to big ISO-s.
Telephoto is a joke on Z70 - every photo with bright points looks like astigmatism and corners are always blurry.
Wide angle is usable only in daylight but very wide photo.
Videos are so-so... like 3-4 years behind - but it has constant 4k/120fps video mode which is nice.
Speakers are worse than S23U, but earpiece is actually superb in calls.
Software is full of errors, autostart applications does not work, permissions gets messy after restart and so on... but no bloatware, no popups etc - very clean.
Battery is VERY good - SOT of 10 hours is not a problem for this phone.
Nice minimum and maximum brightness - where samsung gets green-ish, nubia stays color accurate.
Charging is also a good point - from 5% to 70% in less than 30 minutes.
This phone might be very nice if ZTE manages to improve the software... or opens bootloader.

Doraemon Paimon, 22 Nov 2024I didn't say human eye's are 50mm. It just work... moreI know that. But coming from 50/1.7 to F2 Standard "Kitlens" from the 80s via 35mm SLRs, manual focus of course, 50mm is too narrow, too boring for my needs. If there's one focal length, i do love the most, it's simply 35mm - and 2nd spot is 40mm, because it's quite universal, for mostly anything, to shoot with. Therefore, i have 35 & 40mm lenses for serveral 35mm Film and FF setups, when i make pictures. The phone is always at my fingertips, so i'd really love the way, Nubia does feature the 35mm (equivalent) focal length with their latest phones, instead of going always more & more ultrawide, some 23-26mm, as many phone brands do, these days.

Anonymous, 08 Dec 2024they haven't even added wireless charging and that was... moreYeah no wireless charging is an unfortunate miss. Like if people don't like it because of speed that's fine, I'm exclusively charging overnight anyway like most people so I literally couldn't care less how long it takes and would rather not have to deal with the cable every night.

Anonymous, 05 Dec 2024Well this looks like the Z60 Ultra all over again. All it... morethey haven't even added wireless charging and that was a big request from the z60 ultra... just quality of life things that are missing.
hopefully there will be a stock gallery this time instead of google photos nonsense.. i could not preview or do anything with my photos from within the camera feed on my z60 ultra so constantly had to switch back and forth between different apps instead of it being a one tap thing - shocking considering it's photography aimed.

It's a real shame more phone manufacturers aren't trying to develop under-display camera tech.
