ZTE has launched two budget-friendly smartphones, dubbed the Maven and Sonata 2, in the United States. While the former is available on AT&T, the latter is up for grabs from its subsidiary Cricket Wireless.

The Maven is powered by a Snapdragon 400 SoC with quad-core 1.2GHz processor, and sports a 4.5-inch 854x480 display. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal memory, and packs in a 2100mAh non-removable battery.

It features a 5MP rear camera and a VGA front shooter. The handset offers 4G LTE connectivity, and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

On the other hand, the Sonata 2 is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core CPU, and sports a 4-inch 800x480 display. It also comes with 1GB RAM, but has just 4GB of expandable internal memory. Camerawise, the successor to last year's Sonata features a 5MP rear and 2MP front unit. It packs in a 1650mAh battery, and runs Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box.

As for the price, while the Marvel carries a tag of $59.99 without any agreement, the Sonata 2 will set you back $29.99 with activation.
