abu, 20 Apr 2014dual core? still no quad core or octa core, standards right... moreiOS is so efficient that using 2GB of RAM or more or quad/octa-core processors would render the EXTRA power useless. Apple wouldn't use dual core with 1GB RAM if they know those specs wouldn't suffice the needs of the OS. But they did. Meaning: IT'S ENOUGH.

Did you know gamers on PC, they did not even bother greater then 8GB ram? They rather go for OVERCLOCKING ram, and FAST ram!
iPad is build as per above. Fast ram/ fast cpu/gpu. Number of cores/ capacity of ram is nothing if its slow like turtle.

ashok, 19 Apr 2014i m interested to buy ipad which is best pls tell me Personally, I highly recommend iPad Air. I use one currently (the 32GB silver version) and it's totally stunning. Right from the first time I opened it until now, it's pretty responsive and fast. It has beautiful graphics, too so I enjoy playing Real Racing 3 and Batman. Even with multitasking, this iPad handles the job very well. It's just a little too pricy but it's worth every cent. :)

Lighting performance with Dual-core 1.3 GHz processor and 1gb ram. Wow. Only apple can do that. Apple is amazing.

And the animations doesn't even account to the totality of the iOS 7. Regarding app launching and multitasking, the OS does an incredible job. My iPad Air is a LOT faster than my friends' android tablets in that matter.

You can still highlight the text and choose among 'select', 'select all', and 'define'. There are definitions from the Oxford Dictionary or you can select the web.

By the way, since i am an useful person i post my findings here anyway. Animations cannot be speed up but the UI motion and zooming can, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion > On
This helps, it does feel faster, but slow animations remain and jailbreak is needed to remedy it.
Note that the keyword is FEEL faster, i quote:
"I am not saying it actually makes your device faster. I’m saying that it will make it seem faster. Opening a folder, launching an application, unlocking the device with Touch ID definitely feel more responsive and immediate, although only some scientific testing could confirm this."

ary, 17 Apr 2014u can try UC Browser its working nice...Thanks, i try it, when i can. If still needed that is, one of our laptops got issues so i guess i be buying an x86 Win 8.1 tablet, i have a good excuse for it now =) Wanted the Sony Vaio Tap 11 since i first saw it, the Core i5 version with 512GB SSD. 128GB iPad isnt horrible but dosnt quite cut it.
The iPad was mostly for my daughter anyway, its always with her, she cant even go outside without it.

"One of the primary complaints that I hear about iOS 7, outside of the obvious beef with the app icons, is the slow animation speed. iOS 7 uses animations to add a sense of depth to the interface, and I’m a big fan of the effect. Unfortunately, the effect does add some perceptual slowness to the experience, whether the slowness actually exists or not."
Anyway, there is no solution to this, the only tweaks that can be done involves jailbreak. Hopefully future updates will improve it a bit.

There are tons of people willing to help u there. Posting here with hating comments gets you nowhere, only retorts and anger, as you did not even scratch the surface of iOS.
From the way you describe how you use iPad, sound like a first timer.
