I'm using the 9700, and to me its an eloquent handset. Looking forward in upgrading to the 9780, due to its processor. Coz speed is an important attribute to have on ones berry.

Ritz, 20 Oct 2010It is funny that these comapanies are not reading market ri... moreThe processor is at least 624MHz, and it support mp4. Youtube with fmt value = 18 is best setting (h.264 480 x 360). It just can't handle HD video.

It is funny that these comapanies are not reading market right. In this era of 1ghz processors what is 512 MHZ doing. Further, why cannot RAM be 1 GB. Nice thing is that they have made their media player DIVX/XVID comaptible but MP4 removed. How will youtube play bcuz most of videos on UTUBE r in Mp4 FORMAT. Last but not least why can't screen size get a bit bigger of 2.6 inch. Browsing in 2.44 inch screen is nighmare for eyes.

Who the hell would buy this for 500+ Euros...?This is not even worth 300+ Euros considering what other OS's possess...

Have been using this handset for the last few days and first impressions are good. Very similar to the 9700, but with the new O/S.

Processor seems to be a good bit quicker than the 9700 and the screen has a much higher resolution.

All in all a good handset.

This is the best non-touchscreen phone for now.
Things that RIM has to be done for Bold without changing it's god-like design
                            - 640 x 480 multitouch scratch resistant screen (this will make it same pixel intensity as iPhone 4)
                            - Better CPU (1GHz)
                            - GPU or some sort of Graphic Accelerator
                            - Full Adobe Flash support
                            - Accelerometer
                            - Better camera and video recording (may not be higher pixel)

'T-Mobile UK has jumped the gun and revealed pricing for the, BlackBerry OS 6-toting Bold 9780. The Bold 9780 is the successor to the aging, but wildly popular Bold 9700. According to Electricpig, the new BlackBerry will be available before Christmas. The handset will be available for £0 ($0, if you convert) if you sign 2 years of your life away for a £30/month. Reasonable, no? However, we still don’t have any info on tariff details.
The three other major carriers in Blighty – O2, Orange and 3, have remained tight-lipped on availability. With the festive shopping season around the corner, you can expect all the major carriers to jump on-board'

Looks like the ball is rolling now
