PIN? You are mistaken, you can open BB Hub, slide from the left and see for yourself that PIN messages are separate from BBM. Again, there is no excuse for this BBM thing.

Remember Nokia N9 or Pureview 808? or some Palm OS phones?. Even assuming that BlackBerry vanishes from the face of earth in the next second, you will get enough spares for a couple of years more. Heck, I still get batteries and even display for my Pureview 808.Not to mention enthusiastic modified custom firmwares.

Just take the plunge and you will never be disappointed.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2014What about the battery life???Battery life..hmm. I am not a guy going after too much of battery life calculation or benchmark scores. I recharge when I feel like :).

Having said that, reminding that 10.3 is still a 'leak' (beta, if you like), I feel battery lasts 16 hours for moderate use. 2 hours music, parallel 4-5 hours of kindle reading, an hours of calls, constantly polling gmail, facebook, crackberry, linkedin and gtalk. Off are wifi ( only on demand) NGC and Bluetooth.

              Does this answer your question?

AnonD-209094, 08 Jun 2014And does 10.3 let you log out of BBM? Or disable BBM? I... moreThing is, bbpin in bb devices are special-- each device is associated with a bbpin. That's the point of bbm. And owning a bb. It's uniqueness. If you don't want to use bbm, just don't reply to bbm's and after some time, I'm sure people will stop bbm you.

It's hard to say, but who owns a bb device and able to resist using bbm anyways?

I have been using the z30 before I started using the galaxy S5 to the best of my knowledge, I preferred the BlackBerry to the s5. Apart from the water proof and the health app that is loaded in the s5, the z30 is far better

If I don't need BBM, I just uninstall it. Do you think BBM keep you logged on permanent even if you uninstall it ? Sorry, I never tested that option.

I guess not? This is becoming a huge problem now, imagine if Facebook and Twitter registered you as a new user and logged you in PERMANENTLY (with no option to log out or delete your account) when you activated a new phone? Its unthinkable, yes, but its exactly what BlackBerry does to us with BBM.

I can no longer recommend BB10 pones, the OS is great but the privacy violation is too severe.

And what about custom search engines, now with iOS8 you can even choose DuckDuckGo as your default search in iPhone, more freedom in iOS than in BB, isnt that weird?? Indeed it is strange but true.

And Google/Android? Gooogle been very intrusive in their effort to force people to use their lame Hangouts app for text and chat but there is an option to disable the entire Hangouts service on Android phones. You cant comment on Play Store or Youtube without a Google+ account but you are not forced to use Google+. Now we are seeing a miracle, Google being LESS intrusive than BlackBerry! Google, the king of privacy violations, will allow you to unregister but BB doesnt???

I love BB10 but with forced BBM i dont feel welcome as a BB10 user, i have to go back to Android =(
