I had the i-mate jam and then i bought the Eten M500 .It was the best PDA i ever had. Then i bought the I-mate jasjar (which is the most advance brick in the world) and now i will probably buy the Eten x500 or the m700. I never had any hardware problems whith the m500 , it was a very fast pda and it had a great screen. The only drawback was the plastic cover.

Why is it a rip-off? sure there's bugs in it, but HTC and others don't have a phone like this. They have a GPS phone but it as no keyboard.

Read the posting rules, no bashing, no trolling.

Have a look at the Eten users forum, it seems like hardware isn't a problem but the firmware is.

            Hi,

I am planning to buy eten. What does user think regarding quality? Do I need to go repair shop recently? or it is good as nokia?

            Best Regards

So it lacks 3G? so what. Find me a phone the same size at the M700 with the same features but with 3G and the same battery life and I will then see it as a weakness.

Probably because to keep cost down (supplier, manufacturer, user purchase and service costs), conserve battery power and await for the wider deployment relative to the common 2G technology and then bammo launch a huge holy war on all the poor saps who primarily use their slim, light phone for phone, messaging and editing text to buy into the marketing of "very cheap" high speed wireless services like videocalling that everyone absolutely needs (and not just the technonerdy and cool geeks).

3G is a disappointment for both, users and GSM providers.
By the time 3G will be as spread as EDGE, 4,5G will appear.
I will buy a M700 as soon as I have a good price.
The Samsung@400Mhz is a very good CPU. And WM5 + Sirf III GPS + FM Radio w/ RDS and TMC is a killer combination.

                      Good job ETEN !!!

PS: The design is OK. X500 is the ugly brother.

M700's 236.8k EDGE versus Trion's 384k 3G must be HUGE whenever need to make that precious videocall but 3G is not widely available then you might as well wait and go for 4G, 5G and more g's to the provider. If you you believe 3G market is still the best then have a bridge to sell to you. Caveat emptor.

ETEN M700 pda is imho currently the only best choice that has both GPS and FM radio services built-in that are widely available everywhere you go for free so would not trade that for paying provider(s) for spotty 3G service. Besides all that can also do just fine with the M700's Wi-Fi too especially the free hotspots.

Guessing you will buy what is more important to you regardless so to each their own.

You're better of getting an O2 XDA Trion - it has all the same specs as this phone and more resilient hardware. I had the M500+, and its CPU burned in 2 moths of use!! This phone is NOT 3G compatible.

I really like this. Competition will bring down the price and will force competitors to add features like GPS, FM Tuner and others. Welcome m700.

                                      Please tell us your price!!!

Please bring this one home to us soon.

This looks to be one variation of the Eten X500 that is slightly thicker with the added slide out QWERTY keypad. This M700 will surely be one to beat and be a base for comparisons.
