Apogee777, 21 Mar 2024un-fair price8 years of support, spare parts available and you can replace them yourself them without sending the device to service. Who´s being unfair here?

Just ignore him, never feed the troll.

This phone is the only phone in its niche. No competition because they all lack two major things: near complete repairability and almost 100% use of fair trade materials.

To earn profit, obviously the main reason. This is still overpriced, no matter what you say.

justasmile, 10 Feb 2024Unsure about the camera but the 'non-removable battery... moreNonsense... just nonsense. A glueshut device does not offer protection against water nor against dust but only if it is actually made to resist this elements. Second, to have a removable battery against a glueshut device, is like comparing a glueshut car gassoline tank where you have to use tools to open it to insert fuel and glue to shut it back after full, against a car that all it needs is a key to open the tank cap and insert fuell, yet still callng the first variant the better way to do it, in what world?
Also do you understand the reason this devices exist? Ever heard of the right to repair? Sustainability and fair wages? to name just a few... yeah there was a time when all this words were not needed because it was the norm, probably you were not born back then.
Tough to deny the fact that this device is better then any other in respect of usability and comfortability, sustainability and repairability, and strip it off of it's qualities just by comparing it to a glueshut garbage, while calling it overpriced, is nothing less then pure ignorance.

Bruno, 10 Feb 2024You have the phone youreelf? What’s your experience so far? Yes Im using FP5 myself it is a very good phone and it offers everything you need, plus the environmental aspect that other brands lack completely. So far I can say that there is no need to get another phone in the coming years, software support till 2031 and parts that get worse because wear and tear, i.e. the battery are replaceable, by yourself. I know someone who got a FP2 and only upgraded to FP4 when the FP2 was 7 years old! That pretty much says it all really. Enjoy your phone 👍🏻

The back cover, while can't be 'removable', is still easy to remove with just some tools, isn't it? A glue-shut device also means more protection from water and dust too.

This, at the end of the day, is still overpriced. But looks like it's the only option for if you want an actual removable battery and extremely modular phone, so yeah.

In this phone you have a removable back cover so easy.

I am interested in this phone because of the ideology of the company, I don’t care about high end specs and whatever cuz I don’t need it I’m not exactly a power user. I want a sustainable phone with long support, I rather give my money to a company like Fairphone than to the conglomerates. And this phone is something different than all the rest which I like. So definitely going to see it in the shop in a few days very interesting!
