4 ultra pixel is insanity in a phone..u get the clarity of a dslr camera...the phone is a genuine innovation in terms of technology..htc is truely quietly brilliant.

zzzzzzz, 07 Mar 2013please anyone tell me about 4 ultra pixelsThe Ultra pixels are larger pixels than normal pixels and as such are able to receive more light making the photos better quality in low light conditions, similar to the Nokia lumia 920 from what I've been told. According to htc it is equivalent to 13mp of normal pixels!

BlinkFeed and Zoe look like much, much better features to me.

Anonymous, 06 Mar 2013Dear clueless, MP does equal image quality and all the ultr... moreDear arrogant clueless, I HAVE done my homework. Megapixels do NOT directly equate to image quality. You can smash 40 MP together, but they won't help you at all without an appropriate sensor. "A small sensor (like we have in phones) means that pixels themselves have to be smaller if there are going to be a lot of them, and small pixels suck. Like a crowded fraternity basement, a small, high-megapixel phone sensor creates images mired by discoloration and noise. They may be large images, in terms of the JPEG you view on your screen, but they're not precise, beautiful images." You are correct that the ultrapixels are designed to bring in more light, but you make yourself "look like an idiot" if you believe that light, in photography, is only important for dark situations. With ALL other technology being equal, sure more MP would be better given the sensor is capable, however that isn't, and never will be, the case. It's Sensor > image stabilization > photographic experience (matters less since we are dealing with phones.) > MP. Case in point, if MP mattered the most then I guess the 12-13 mp cameras on the lg and Sony phones outperform them 8mp setup on the Nokia 920? Oh wait, they don't. MP junkies are almost as bad as people that think processor clock speed matters most, while ignoring the architecture behind it.

Your thinking about samsung makes you more of an anti-technology guy. How can you say something about a product which didn't even launch yet. Try being fair when you start judging our else just write before you comment something - "i think that...".
& fyi am not using a Samsung device. Wait for the S4. & do search for 'eye scrolling','eye tracking' and 'eye pause' features. They are really innovating.

The size of those pixels is massively important, otherwise why would an SLR use 6.4µm (Canon 5D m2) pixels if 1.1µm (xperia Z) does the same job?
Bigger pixels = more light = better pictures

The pixels though are larger and therefore gather more light making a better image, especially in low light. The ONLY compromise if you can call it that, is that it's native print size is 8"x10" (about an A4 sheet) but nobody prints off their phone, and if they do, they're not printing posters. The picture quality is really good, better than 12megapixel compacts

The battery is suprisingly very, very good. It lasts me a whole day with heavy use. From 7 to 22 with still some left and I had 5hrs of screen time. I'm just amazed. This is Note 2 category ;)
