You know what pisses me off most. Co's like Apple, announce a iPhone, than take 8 months to release, than another 8 for the rest of the world, by then I get married and had a kid 6 months old. Thas not all, the technolgy used would have by then consigned to the dark ages. At least HTC announces than releases within one month, that is the fun about tecnology, the now factor.

Why HTC can't understand the need to increase CPU speed. No 3G, HTC is boing BACKWARD instead of going forward

mqCq , you dont know anything.

" 3G/HSDPA - Moan about the lack of this if you cant go a day without video calling you mum to get some parental comfort that you so badly need" = you cant compare surfing the web on edge, with hsdpa ! hsdpa it's 10 times faster.actually, even faster.3,6 mb/s to 236 kb/s makes a differenece ;) so the lack of hsdpa really sucks.and wlan hotspots are sooo rare.and even if you find one, they're not free.i have unlimited internet on orange,so everywhere there's signal,i have internet at great speeds ! there's 3g in any city, and edge everywhere.something you cant say about wlan ;)
as for the proccesors, you said " And to those of you complaining about the processor - You cant just compare a 400Mhz Intel processor with a 200Mhz TI purely based on speed. The architecture of the two chips are completly differant. It's like AMD Vs Intel in PC's. "
well, thats not true.the OMAP processor is a LOT slower.if you had owned two different pda's with both a omap, and another one with a samsung/intel processor (even if intel's pxa 27x is alot faster) youll know it.theres no comparison between the two processors.omap is really slow ! it took my qtek 9100 (ti omap 850,same processor) about 1 and a half minutes to boot up,and my tytn (samsung processor) takes about 20 seconds.theres a MAJOR difference.they put the omap processors only in small pda's,or to make them cheap.further more, the omap processor doesnt support 3g.its that slow.and the real frequency is 195 mhz.and its not overclockable.intel and samsung processors are.a samsung can go from 400 to 500,and a intel pxa 270 can go from 416 to 624.and only on intel processors you can play call of duty 2 or tony hawks pro skater(games from aspyr media).and are beautiful games, with detailed 3d worlds.so...this phone IS better than the iphone or lg prada, but its just a PHONE.its n o match for a pda-phone htc usually makes (tytn for example).

a phone like this should have a 5 megapixel camera at least, 2 megapixel ain't enough :)

The design of that TI processor is SUPPOSEDLY great on battery without losing too much on speed and also low cost. Other than the low cost, it failed on the other 2. All TI processor will show up at the bottom of any benchmark test. If you don’t believe in benchmark numbers, you can test it by running GPS and run anything or Media Player and run anything. That real life test will show you how sucky the TI processor is (Intel and Samsung are fine). TI is great for single tasking. Just make sure nothing running in the background.
GPRS is only slightly slower than an old modem. If you think modem speed is fine for your home, you don’t need 3G for your mobile devices.
I find it odd there isn’t a single video phone that has a TI processor in it.

                    Hi All,

We were invited to the Global launch of this device in London on Tuesday, and we have them in stock today. I must say that this IS a great phone, with a great mix of form and function. The touch screen is very differant to the previous HTC models in that it requires more pressure to use, so ideal for one handed use.

To those of you complaining/comparing the OS with that of the iphone, you should know that this version of WM was 2 years in the making by the worlds biggest supplier of WM devices, and one of the best innovators in modern mobile devices. The iphone is to be Apples 1st attempt at the mobile market.

                    so...

Prada phone by LG - Get that if your a label basher and dont mind a slow, unresponsive, 1st attempt at a touch screen phone.

3G/HSDPA - Moan about the lack of this if you cant go a day without video calling you mum to get some parental comfort that you so badly need, cos lets face it a GPRS/WiFi combo is more than fine in most situations when you take into consideration compression on network level.

HTC Touch - Fantastic interface, tried and tested WM platform, great design.

And to those of you complaining about the processor - You cant just compare a 400Mhz Intel processor with a 200Mhz TI purely based on speed. The architecture of the two chips are completly differant. It's like AMD Vs Intel in PC's. On paper the AMD processors are "slower", however in practise they run as fast, if not faster than their Intel equivilant.

                    Thats my two cents.

Good to see it is loaded with Windows Mobile 6.0
But still no other improvement. No 3G, only a camera with 2.0 megapixel....... There's no innovation. Apple's iphone is great. Even though there's no 3G in iphone, there's a new innovative trend coming up.

I am .net developer and i like to develope my own program with C# on the .net framework, since I perefer to buy HTC.
                        Good design,
                        good OS,

funny stuff you guys are saying i must add....
1 - this Touch is alot smaller than the iPhone - ALOT!!

2 - the iPhone is extremely vulnerable to scratches due to the glossy look, i cant even imagine how it will look after 6 months of usage, also don't forget about fingerprints...

3 - don't forget that the iPhone is Apple's first attempt on the PDA market, whereas HTC has 1000 times more experience, they produce PDA's for Orange, O2, i-mate, Q-tek, T-Mobile etc... do you really want to buy a company's first model?

4 - think before you buy! do you know how much 3rd party software you will find for the iPhone after you buy it? 0! For Windows Mobile you can find almost everything you imagine

i'm not here on behalf of HTC, as the matter of fact i own an Asus P535, quite possibly the best PDA-phone on the market..... but you guys really miss some facts here, if you want to buy a PDA don't look how it looks, look at what it can do..... if you want a glossy stylish phone go for LG Shine or whatever....

HTC make some pretty good phones

give this phone 3g and a secondary camera and it will be a great phone. otherwise looks good but would not waste my money on it.
