I have had this phone for almost a year now and its still going strong. I have used it everyday, drop it a few times and its still like new. Very good build quality. I am currently running 2.1 OS in the handset which I got from the T-Mobile web site.

Battery life is the same as all phones of this type. You have to charge it evey night. Mine likes to die about midnight. It comes off charge about 6am so lasts about 18 hours.

As long as your not looking to play the newer 3D games this is a great phone and being an andriod can do eveything the others can do just with a little lag. But given the very cheap price tag what more can you ask for.

Price is a very big issue for me so having a phone that is a good all rounder for internet, email, texting ect. This phone suits my needs. As I am a year on I am looking to upgrade. I am surprised to find that there are very few phones at this spec level under the £100. I might have to wait a while but happy to do so.

It's one of the best phone I've ever used.
Even froyo is coocked for it now.
            And the multitouch should work.
            It's a metter of days.
            Check the modaco forum.

I don't know which version of android os do u have but with 2.1 it is possible certainly. Remove gsm arena or add that the u8220 has 192 mb ram or 256 mb ram official , not official even more.

iBob, 21 Aug 2010No multitouch at all, not on 1.5 and not on 2.1, no multito... morePlease remove the references about Multitouch on your descriptions.
Note that I've bought this phone "mainly" trusting in your descriptions, and it's not Multitouch "by hardware, it's simply not supported".
Remove "Multi-touch input method" because it's not.

No multitouch at all, not on 1.5 and not on 2.1, no multitouch... These are the things that makes people want an iPhone, then they ask why? Sucks...

It is an under appreciated handset. I live in the US but still managed to obtain it when it launched. I love it and use it as my secondary next to my Droidx

I got one U8220 on DEC 09, till now It works pretty good. Regarding quality, It's OK.
But let me share with you about a new version of U8220 with DOUBLE MEMORY!! My old one has 192MB but new one I recently got is 390 MB, then performance is awsome.
Will new low-memory Android handsets have good performance? (SE X10 mini just 132 MB, SS I5700 just 180 MB, etc.)...

I do not believe Huawei only copies other vendors like Nokia, Samsung, Moto or SE. If that is so, how they can come up with Android phones before most of them? I've been to Barcelona in the 3G conference. They were also the 1st vendor to come up with world 1st LTE USB dongle! I also learned that Huawei is the 3rd largest Telecom equipment vendor in the world & soon to become no. 2 after Ericsson.

Get used to the fact that China has advanced a lot in technology & soon to become the 2nd largest economy in the world.
