It just makes me sad they never updated this form-factor. Felt so perfect in-hand. iPhone 7 is the most popular phone on Earth, and it has a 4.7" screen. I'd take an updated Moto X 2013 with same form factor, NFC, better camera, better battery, memcard slot, and juicy hardware. Hopefully the Moto X4 is worthy of the name!

I got my 1st Gen Moto X in October 2013. Got a soft silicon gel cover for it as I work in the construction industry and phones tend to get buggered up in my line of work. 2 years later virtually to the day I upgraded to a Moto G3 which I still have. My youngest daughter has the Moto X now which will be 4 years old in 4 months. Still going strong, never misses a beat and still never lags or freezes.

Kingrule, 10 Apr 2017I'm having problem upgrading to 5.1 it keeps on loading and... morebetter stay in kitkat, some hardware get buggy after install 5.1 (boot optimizing every boot might takes 15m which happen to some nexus and others). If you want 5.1 just install twrp and find image recovery 5.1 (this is also way out to those get boot optimizing even after hard reset and re-install 5.1). Don't ever try downgrade

Poor quality if motherboard used. I dnt rough use my MotoX Play and phone never slipped from my hand.But after 1 year it suddenly got switched off and never recovered.
B2X service center told me that motherboard needs to be changed. Why,how, when....no answers.!!!
Lost faith in MOTO.

The phone is very good only the service at Kolkata is terrible .A battery replacement at the authorised service centre is met without a time or cost estimate .I was informed that they have been waiting for a battery for the last TWO months after asking for the same .And this is the authorised service centre at Diamond Harbour Road at Kolkata !!!!!

Anonymous, 01 May 2017I facing signal problem.in my moto x .any body solved my problem.google it, how to install stock rom via rsd lite, my xt1053 had problem with boot optimizing every boot even after factory reset, I reinstall stock rom via rsd lite and fixed.
Did anyone notice x ghost got security patch till April 2016 (almost 3 years after launch, Agust 2013), this is excellent service

I was using it until I changed it for a LG G4. The LG stopped working as soon as the warranty expired. I bought a Blu Vivo XL and I was not satisfied so I went back to this, which surprised me. It continues to have a very good performance and I will continue to use it until it bursts.
