Anonymous, 02 Nov 2014Awesome samsung should use this display to improve all s-featuresActually they will be using it to make Phablets which you can fold up so that they're actual phones and then unfold for tablet mode. Besides all the gimmicks samsung also contributes useful stuff to Android.

AnonD-216585, 02 Nov 2014smart-phone-tablets on the way....doesn't look like it,
amoleds have a long history yet they have reached this point so far
but of course since there was never such benable battery or cases that can't happen soon.
small battery for a high end big screen would be disaster & durability against shock does also matter
i see that as a long way.

What I want to see is a 5" touch screen smartphone where I can expand the hidden folded screen to say 10-12 inches and watch my videos or doodle on it or read comics and ebooks .. that will be the perfect device.

I thought G Flex beat Apple in bended display. But before them, curved TVs were already in market. Point aside, I'm interested to know if this gets creases. LOL

[deleted post]Apple never make a displays, all their display came from, JDI, Sharp, and LG.
SEL or semiconductor Energy Laboratory have a revolutionary technology called CAAC-OS.

Now if apple had made a new ipad which can bend. Then the issue of damaging the device is resolved. Although I would not recommend this kind of display for gaming as the game display would bend accordingly unless laid on a table.

IGZO also made by them with Sharp. So they have best TFT LCD technology. Will see how their OLEDs going to be. Hope for some real competition for Samsung's AMOLEDs. Hope to see it in Meizu MX5.
