On Samsung devices 1.2gb of ram used is heaven :D on my Note 4 i have constantly 1.7Gb Used , only system running.

I have the Nexus 5 and I too have the problem. Chrome and some other apps keep closing on me. But I would still update to L because K has some pretty nasty bugs, such as files being corrupted when your device is running out of space.

I have this bug. Running 5.0 on the 2014 Moto X. It's very annoying, but my phone mostly works fine.

I'm using the 4.2.2 on my S IV. My system memory is always sitting around 1.2 to 1.3 GB. Facebook and similar apps are disabled. Is there really that much overhead in the Samsung Touchwiz?!!?!?

I shall migrate to Lollipop only if I have option to change background in black. This white hurt my eyes.

android ... moreActually ART is now very mature, I can even use it in 4.4.4 without any problem.
I dislike some of the design choices in their new "Material Design", notably the white-everywhere that looks specially bad in the app drawer.
But other than that (and this bug) it should be the best Android version to be on (because Android is evolutionary, not revolutionary at each version).

Do I belong to the small minority who have no issues with memory leak. I have checked my N5 many times and the system memory is always around 250MB. I hope the fix doesn't become an issue once the update hits my device.

I've been using lollipop for 3 weeks now and don't experience any problems... Actually it's fast, very fast on my S4 i9505...GPE lollipop
I play all games and watch movies at full HD and no lag at all...Fifa 15 UT, Need for Speed MW,PES 2014,Tekken 5 & 6...etc and the graphics and speed is just awesome...
Memory usage is normal... System never gets above 300mb...no RAM leakage of some sort
Everything just works on S4 GPE Lollipop...and works fast...like super fast...
This is the best OS on any mobile...Android 5.0 Lollipop GPE

my nexus 6 is running 5.0.2 uptime is just over 28 hours. Have it currently on charge running google play music streaming, a couple of apps and games (mostly simcity buildit) in the background and I currently have 1.8Gb free so only using 37%.
I bet if I bothered to clear off the background apps that would drop on down.
Infact I just did that and my usage now just went down to 25% with 2.2gb free. I think perhaps the memory leak is present more if you already have limited ram perhaps its core components of the system that are not releasing ram to the already starved apps.

android need completely re-written from scratch. the quality is not good, is inferior compare to WP or iOS , the reason android popular is because user can easily get pirated apps for it.

Have seen memory leak on non-Lollipop so I suspect it's something like Google Play services but it seems to be fixed at least for me.

Am still wondering whts wrong with GOOGLE?? Y can't they fixed it n gives it stable version in first place?? Wht has hppnd to their SOFTWARE ENGINEERS?? EVERY time there has always been some new BUGS WAITING FR US..

This is to compete with Apple releasing iOS8. You know, people tend to rush things and this is the result.
I'm not an Apple fan btw, but when it comes to these kinds of updates, they are pretty good at it. And I agree that its becoming more and more fragmented. Might try a different OS next year...

android 5.0 is a flop.
this whole new ART Runtime with JIT Compilation is Not Matured.
Pity the Nexus end user as the white mice.
Congratze the Nexus developer where they can explore and experience alot.

I have this bug and it sucks! Bbm/chrome constantly crash and the homescreen reloads the icons all the time.. At least I know its something that can be fixed
