Well stop the BS yourself. You are using 4.1 and complaining? I bet you haven't tried custom roms or even rooting and tweaking your device. And comparing that to Symbian Belle? I'm sorry if you were "born" during the symbian days and got stuck there. Honestly I did not like android ages ago and thought N9/meego will be successful. Needless to say, I saw the potential in android and it seems to be doing well. How cool is it to have basically a linux-machine at the palm of your hands? Symbian got old and naturally needed to retire. It can no longer keep up with the competition. They will not revive it whatever the two of you say. Well, maybe, as a FEATURE phone.

xunter, 15 Jan 2015You obviously haven't been keeping an eye on technology and... moreAccording to nonsense you are writing regarding Symbian, you haven't seen it die. Developers got lazy? Are you out of your mind? Symbian was non touch OS from scratch. And last version was Belle. No development, you say? I am pretty sure that last (or even only) Symbian you have tried was Symbian OS v9.4, Series 60 rel. 5. Stop your bullshit. About mine, maybe nowadays it can multitask, i dunno. I have still Xperia S and 4.1 is using fake multitasking, tombing backround apps.

Haha! I can see the face of the nokia executives today thinking... "Why didn't we consider android over microsoft years ago. Damn we shouldn't have ditched Maemo and Meego we never thought linux on mobile is the future trend on smartphones."

You obviously haven't been keeping an eye on technology and trends. I dunno what unit you have tried, as far as I'm concerned, I can do real multi-tasking on my phone. Having 2 apps running and being displayed on the screen at the same time. Heck I can even develop apps on it. I've seen the birth and death of your beloved OS, and never once was I amazed. Developers of symbian got lenient and lazy, very little changed.

Well, i don't need eyecandy like brainless teenagers do but working and effective OS that can do things. Does Android even multitask? Nope. This fake multitasking is joke. Symbian was 10x more OS compared to crappy Android.

Please do some research before posting BS, Nokia has only licensed to MS all their patents and not sold a single intellectual property to MS

In Fact Nokia -- the non-handset company -- is continuing to operate. It is now a three-piece operation , with a networking unit, mapping business and a patent and research arm. But not mobile division....this means they dont posses anything of their original mobile patents. Those are now part of Microsoft Mobile Research.

I'm just comparing s40 usability against symbian. And yes I know s40 is not symbian(s60, s80 and UIQ are symbian) and I never mentioned that it is. It does matter if symbian can handle 40 mpix camera, its still buggy and ugly and old and it has reached its end of life.

Forão few patents sold, and an example pure view

What the Nexus 9 should have been... Maybe better internals but design and build quality wise for sure.

It combines the best hardware, which is clearly the iPad, and the best mobile operating system, which is clearly Android 5.0 by now.

I think it will be an extremely popular formula. The only thing that could bring it down for me would be Nokia's Launcher instead of stock Android or Cyanogen.

iOS used to be the better one but times have changed. I still very much like the Apple hardware though and I think it was genius of Nokia to go this route for their tablet.
