samsung is a sinking ship, sorry for all the fanboys though, but it's true. In a few years the new leader Apple or Huawei or Xiaomi will be a sinking ship too, and that will continue, history will repeat itself.

Samsung is just played out. Their design language is bland, user interface is clunky, updates are scarce, unless it's a flagship model, but even then it's no guarantee.
Don't get me wrong...I love my Samsung 4K TV. Picture is amazing & the bezels are very thin. Samsung is a great tech company, but their mobiles don't reflect the rest of the company's scheme of being beautiful and function tech.
It's mobile division is boring and dated.

Blimey, why all the animosity? It's a bloody phone for heavens sake not a football match!! No company really cares about you. They just want your money and will do whatever it takes to get it.
Buy what you feel suits you - not because it's Apple or Samsung or Sony. The thing to look at with mobiles is the *O/S*. Are you happy with a simple, straightforward interface and want to play the games? Get an Apple. Do you want customization, widgets, an SD slot and the ability to simply drop media such as films on the device? Then get an Android. Simple.
Oh, and forget slagging off Touchwiz or whatever. It doesn't matter. Stick Nova launcher on an Android and you get better than stock experience. Job done!

Well on the plus side, seems the locally manufactured phones, including iphones (bcoz they are), are rising in the Chinese market which isn't a bad thing.

samsung failed to release new model with dual sim, 32g storage in 2014. deserved the failing sales record.
do not commit such low level errors again in 2015
basic spec requirement for the upcoming s6 it should be:
dual sim, 3g ram, 64g storage, micro sim, qhd 5.1 amoled screen. ois cam, removable battery. at least 7hrs of web surfing possible.

The problem with Samsung (and to lesser extent Sony) is they desperately need to work on the software side. Xiaomi and Huawei are both spending considerable amount of energy trying to provide an improved user experience on Android. Next to them Samsung's bloatware UI is pretty much rubbish. That combined with higher price tag and only marginally better hardware its a losing combination. If Samsung go premium and brand recognition, then it's premium products has to be better than it's cheaper rivals.

Chinese mobile sell high numbers because of cheaper price against Samsung ,LG , htc and same good companies that are reliable & innovator! just cheap !

no surprises here - prices for samsungs midrange is ridiculous high, qhalitys is as "meh" as other brands and spec wise - nothing spectacular came out since Galaxy S2... as i said before - Samsungs CEos are complete clueless about market and their own market position right now (they still live in past when Samsung was the one calling the shots)

One thing's for sure, people have been waiting for a larger iphone for years, and a lot of them bought samsung while waiting. Now, samsung will have a hard time competing because they don't have the large screen advantage in the high end anymore. In the mid and low, the competition is too fierce for them in china. All in all, we'lll wait and see when s6 launches if it'll make any difference or it'll continue the slide that started at from their s3 peak.
