So this compares a mid product cycle Samsung against a newly launched iPhone6 and Xiaomi's plethora of newly launched devices.. not exactly a fair comparison. Obviously Xiaomi is king, but it would interesting to see the same comparison when HTC, Samsung, LG and Sony have launched their latest flagships against the mid cycle iPhone.

All of Samsung's product are overpriced compared to some other brands. And that's why Samsung slips down to 5th place in China. Although the performance of their products seems to top the charts, it seems so that the products never gave a bang of buck(save for luxury phones, because they're too expensive).

AnonD-146024, 17 Feb 2015I wonder how the writer skipped mentioning Apple which show... moreIt is because the Highlight is always Samsung. Whether Positive or Negative.

But Samsung is not learning from their mistakes. Again and again same thing and now the people are bored of their same Design phones. Just putting metal will not differentiate their different models of phone. Atleast keep Tizen and Android a different design.

The rumors about reducing the battery capacity is again a big negative. Even if they can give better battery with 2600MaH then what's the problem in giving more superior battery life by putting 3000MaH

I wonder how the writer skipped mentioning Apple which shows 99%+ growth that too targeting only High end market unlike xioami who sells budget handsets.

The consumers made several complaints regarding bloat ware and complained about models made of plastic, until they listen maybe they may be on top....... they should stick to stock android.

People was saying no more overpriced plastic year after year, yet they delivered more cheap looking fake metal junk. People got fed up and moved on. Now it's too late.

What is really scary is that this was the quarter when the Note 4 was hot...and it actually has and continues to sell very well in China and the rest of the world. But if that is the case, then its other models were truly hammered...

Those lamers are losing market share by the minute. Being 5th in the world's biggest market and falling is terrible.

This is a clear reflection of some bad decision making on Samsung's behalf and nothing more. I think this trend will continue internationally.
But it's good to see the competition coming through and having a go whilst taking a chunk of the market share. A reigning monopoly by any single company tends to lead to stagnation of innovation - so this is good news for everyone.
Smarten up Samsung and take note! (No pun intended!)

Overpriced phones with no good and gimiicky features have led Samsung to this fate.
Luckily , it is still ahead of Meizu and Oppo.
