The $470 tag was by ONE retailer!
If you would kindly take a minute to check on AliExpress now, you'll find that there are a couple more sellers offering the 4GB variant with 32GB of ROM for USD 292 !! And of course, these are reputed sellers.

Its all madness and nothing more !!!!
Fab new phone comes out and the manufacturer hypes it up to the limit and everyone goes crazy . good marketing ASUS . and a nice looking phone for the price !!!!!
But and its a big one its not a top of the range Sony, HTC, Samsung or any of the other premium models . so people need to calm down !
The reason its starting at $199 is because its trying to compete with the big boys and that would be impossible if the price reaches $400 + for the 4gb version as no one will but it - Asus has a fantastic opportunity to steal some of the premium mobile phone sales market this year buy only if the price is right !
Relax, Chill Out and wait the price will be very competitive otherwise they will not sell the amount phones to the mass market that they want to do which is there plan and sales strategy !
Anyone that pre orders at a vastly inflated price wants their head testing :-)

Thank you for pointing out that it was none other than the stupid reseller, AliExpress, which doesn't even represents the accurate retail price.
Note to everybody: This is NOT the official price, instead it's some lame ass reseller quoting a random price.
