I don't pick the word compact. it's huge and hard to handle. I think it's the only problem i got with it. I can't literally hold this phone :D

The specs don't match but this could be a pre-production model so quite possibly an early representation of the Zenfone 2.

This is not possible. The z3580 at 2.33Ghzversion has 4GB of ram and a FHD screen with 1920x1080. The version of the phone with 1280x720 and 2GB ram comes with a Z3560 at 1.8Ghz instead. I highly doubt the reliability of this source.

The cpu-z report seems a bit bogus, Android 5.0 doesn't support dalvik JVM and I'm under the impression that the phone with the 720p screen doesn't have the atom z3580 (publications seem divisive when reporting variants and specs, though).

this is crazy ....the zenfone 2 just got a billion varients now....
                this is the 5" hd 720 p with 2gb ram and z3580 ....
asus might also have a 5" version with 4gb of ram and 1080p display...
i will probably go for the 5.5" 720p hd version with z3560 and 2gb ram tat might be the best of them all..
the reason is tat all these varients no matter wat..have 3000 mah battery so the battery life will be the least in the 4gb 5.5" fhd version ...
the battery will last longer in the fhd 2gb ram version but the performance will be slightly better in the 720hd 2gb z3560 5.5" version compared to the fhd 2gb 5.5" z3560 version....the performance of the 720phd 2gb 5.5" z3560 in my assumption will be as good as the z3580 fhd 5.5" 4gb version...
if you are worried about the display ...dont be...coz all the varrients have truevivid tech on top and 400nits brightness and youre hardly going to notice the difference as it is an ips display
i wouldnt recomend going with the 5" version as those varients have just a single led flash which is not even close to that of the 5.5" duel toned flash
a few minor cons with the zenfone 2 tat i found looking at all the videos are below, just check them:
                1. there is a shutter delay while taking hdr or low light mod pics
                2. the low light mod shrinks the picture quality to 3 mp which is a disapointment that is left by the zenfone 6
                3. the front camera angle is quite distorted u might notice
that or not, however there is a selfie mod tat uses the rear camera so no problem
                4. the front camera has a slightly laggy picture movement in indoor lighting conditions
                5. the power button is on top,its hard to reach..but there is an option of double tap to lock and wake...so no probs
                6. the quality of the speakers is still a mystery
                7. might heat up quickly
                8. the overall size of the phone would have been even better if they had removed their so called iconic design on the bottom...but on the bright side it prevents accedental touches on the home button
                9. the capacitive buttons couldve been backlit...
                10. no optical image stabilizer
                11. non removable battery

besides all this the phone is one of the best phones overall

I reinstate - an Antutu score completely disregards screen resolution so the last paragraph of this article is total BS! jeez!
Now, this 50k score is really surprising for the Dell venue 7000 with the same SoC scores just 45k and the 5.5" variant of the ZF2 scored 44k when benchmarked at CES last month! One can only assume that Asus has really, really optimised the OS to bring out the full potential of this little Intel chip set, eh...

its the basic model in the English on left side with 5 inch screen and 720p while in Chinese on left its the score of top end model with 4gb ram and 1080 screen.

This sounds great. I don't think we need more than 720p in a 5.5 inch screen. And if this makes the phone faster, cheaper, and better battery life I will take it. The new screens with more than 1080p are nonsense, there is little difference and performance is reduced.

Asus is great in offering the great phones at very low price. But there after sales service is very low. I bought their Tablet Asus TF300 and within 3 months I got problem in the screen and given Asus repair center in Mumbai. It took more than 2 months to get it repaired as the spare parts was not available and it needs to be imported.

After that one thing I realized that cheap things comes at the cost of the product and service. No doubt the Tablet was best looking and nice performance but what is the use of buying if it will take 2 months or so for repair. Now facing problem with the battery, so I am afraid to go service center again.

                                  Any other comments on this????

Now the pricing is so critical. In India the 720p 2gb 1.8 ghz version could cost 19k and 1080p 4gb 2.3 ghz will cost 24k. the 5 inch 2gb older clovair processor is what priced for 12k. Its only 8mp and 2mp cam. So there will be no good model for 13-16k price range. I hope yureka 2 will be priced at 13k

I think 720p screens drain less juice than screens with Full HD (1080p). Intel is trying to make it much the chips as small as possible. In verdict, Intel is not the best, but they will do their best.

Was eagerly waiting for this phone under the assumption that it had a 1080 screen. 720 just doesn't cut it anymore.
