Amazing Phone!!

The M9 design is kept mostly the same, because they got the design right in the M8, so why change it?
So instead, they just modified the internal Specs.
Totally agree with you HTC!

Htc was actually asked about the ugly black bezel...they said that if they removed it and made the ohone smaller the internal components would not fit it..

why would they change their design? there is no competition in that regard. apple copies htc with their iphone 6, samsung copies apple with their s6, lg tries some stupid back buttons with minimum bezel which is a little nice, but poor materials and stupid button placement ruins it, sony updates processor and makes another xperia z without changing anything every 5 months. without competition technology won't advance. can you give any useful addition example to the phones for like 3 years period? maybe we can only give fingerprint scanner which is not that big of a deal. anything else? i don't think so. (please don't tell me those stupid samsung shit). it is not a massive upgrade from m8 and it was expected. also you should not change your phone every year so pass this year. i have a m7 and this is a massive upgrade for me in camera, battery and speed departments. (what else do you need?). not to mention the ergonomical improvements like separating volume buttons and screen gestures to open the screen, camera etc.

I can't believe they kept the huge bezel below the screen for the HTC logo. Again. This is the dumbest design choice evern. Eveyone has ridiculed it. And they keep doing it. Such a waste of space. Make the phone smaller or the screen bigger. Don't waste a cm just for a dumb logo.

The large 1/2.3 sensor for the camera is a good development. I hope this reflects the trend for flagship phones. It's six or seven year old technology, so there's no excuse to have manufacturers stuck on even older smaller 1/3 sensors.

But no OIS is just a total fail. The original One had OIS. What a stupid step backwards, who updates in a row.

Glad to see expandable storage. Strange how rare that has become in flagships.

Overall this seems like a ho hum upgrade to an old design. The original One still had the best design. The specs are keeping up with the times (mostly, not entirely). But other than the boom speakers, HTC still really isn't doing anything to wow people. Maybe if it was $500 intsead of $649, this device would make more sense.

HTC can do better than that. It's unacceptable that the M9 is tickier than the M8. Also, get rid of the stereo speaker. This is the problem for lower screen:body ratio, not the HTC logo bar who has something underneath.

Lol at people's pathological need to have the "best" in their disposal. Get over yourselves. You aren't relevant and neither will the kind of phone you have.

People need to realize that the smartphone industry has plateaud. There's only so much you can do to improve a phone now. I do think HTC did make a mistake in keeping such a similar design to the m8. That being said, this is still gonna be an amazing phone and I don't know why people are acting like it's the worst thing ever. HTC took a near perfect phone (M8) and made it better. I know I will definitely be upgrading from my M7 to the M9 because HTC still delivers the best all around experience in a smartphone

This year is HTC bankrupt year

I think HTC need to get a new Designer who have a true "creativity"

this phone is good in specs, but not in design. (I'd rather to cut the black bar or using capacitive button just like the m7 but no onscreen button)

                        it's a modified M8. Not M9

2 yeare old timeless design! Its the best design out there. Its like a mercedes benz, it doesnt have to change its exterior, rather perfect it.

I was so looking forward to this phone as I am M7 owner who enjoyed the and a still enjoying it after 2 years I bought it. It was a revelation in many ways as it forced other manufacturers to change the way their product look and many haven't even come close the precision in design that M7 brought to the table 2 Yeats ago. M8 was slightly upgrade and did not bring anything new on the hardware side. So I thought M9 will evolve and will fresher bthan the predecessor. But it has disappointed the fans big time. Who will buy a phone which looks the same after two years where the one you have does not fall back when in features when compared to the new one. On top HTC had taken off key feature like OIS which made M7 a great phone in terms of Camera experience even though it lacked the Mega pixels. I think it's time HTC started listening to its fans. I hate to say this no matter how great HTC devices are and how technologically advanced they are it doesn't have the money and publicity power like Samsung and Apple does. So the only way to stand out and be noticed is to have fresh product line and design revelation , not the iterative the evolution. I hate to say this being an HTC fan. It might just be the time to say RIP HTC one.
