My M7 is still the best, the design, the sound, everything. People around me always stare at it, some ask me about it's performance, it's that beautiful. I don't see any drastic changes in M9.... M7 has also got 1080p screen, great sound and it accomplishes almost everything that you expect from a premium smartphone. I'll give M9 a pass, just like I did to M8. Let's see what M10 brings to the table next year ;)

This is disappointing, the onscreen bezel is still there.. to be honest it's M8 with a 20mp camera. I was hoping it would look like the revolutionary design. I'm disappointed man.

When I look at the S6 I can list many things I don't like the look of. The M9 just one: that hopeless black bar with just the HTC logo. I hate BlinkFeed so that could be a downer but I'm sure it can be turned off. Camera samples aren't brilliant but I'm sure these will be vastly improved on the final version.

Overall m9 is a good phone, but no ois and bloody black bar is killing me! Designewise, to me personally, changes HTC has done are minor but it changed whole front furnace to me. Fhd screen means that m9 must be faster than s6 in synthetic tests, sense is lighter than tw so end user experience must be better on m9 than s6.

Let's just wait tests and see

                1) 2-year-old design... CHECK

                2) Pointlessly huge screen bezels... CHECK

                3) Bastardization of Android-skin... CHECK

                3) More market-share lost for HTC... CHECK

My worst fears are revealed. The rumours were right. It's the same phone I bought two years ago. Instead of the M7, they've called it the M9. Early reports are that the camera is poor. The processor is slow (compared to Galaxy S6). The design is dated. That's dated, not classic or high end. Dated. My contract runs out middle of March and I was so looking to get the M9. That was based on some renders online which suggested a stunning looking phone. Not the case. After two years, I expect revolutionary, not evolutionary. My son got the Apple 6 last year and I was impressed by how it looked and how it had changed since 5. It's looks even more I pressive now, and HTC may well lose my dosh to Apple. Sorry.

LOL, a menu botton, obviously Peter Chou is still running the show over at HTC, but how silly can one get?? Very. The hands-on says you can customize the buttons but not if you can reduce it to only the 3 ones that is supposed to be present on Android? I have used 4 button phones and they look and feel messy and its very annoying since the 4th button is alwayd redundant and just makes a mess.

                    - Can one have only the 3 required buttons?
                    - Can blinkfeed be removed, or still have to change the default homescreen to hide the silliness?
                    - Does Sense mess with color reproduction this time?

Those are the 3 most important i can think of, it is still way too long for comfort but i will soon need a modern Android phone for some projects (and i am entitled to a new sim-unlocked phone from carrier now) so it just as well be this one but it should be comfortable for daily tasks still, in addition to the testing tasks, which this one is pretty far from when right out of the box. Im waiting for the reviews then (not on this site however, the display tests here are jokes, they didnt even mention how terrible the Xperia Z3 display is)

So u mean to say in a year the design team couldn't figure a way to get rid of that pesky logo bar. At least Sammy's design team spent a year designing a new device.
