HA HA ..they finally caught up and the funny thing is the Nokia N8 was the first to have 12MP so this is a joke within itself

Nokia N8? Sony Ericsson and Samsung had 12MP a full year before Nokia launched the N8. Having said that, with the N8 Nokia showed what kind of photo quality you could achieve with a camera phone.

Strange, apple always been more for the quality pictures, so if they upgrade to the 12mp and keep the 1.3,6 sensor size then it will become more noise, and crappy low light shots, i hope atleast they upgrade their aperture then to 2.0 to compensate atleast

My nokia N8 had a 12Mp camera back in 2010 so there is nothing to be noisy about. It's not even news at all. I know some die hard fans will congratulate them and criticize other brands for just doing numbers. But I tell you this camera quality will not better than most cameras released 3-5yrs ago like the N8's and the sony's. And by the way apple dont manufacture this, they will only borrow from another company and their fans will even boast of them being better than their supplier. Also, the day apple will increase the iphone's battery to may be 2500 mAh, it will be a big innovation when already every has moved past that level. The truth to why apple phones are expensive is because they hype their products and they get a lot of help from their fans to do that. And some sorry fans will go about suffering to buy expensive match boxes.

I'm happy with the 8MP camera in my iPhone 5. I'm afraid that 12MP will eat up a lot of storage. Maybe 10MP would be a better compromise?

Even my expensive canon dslr have "only" 12mp camera and it takes great photos, wonder why...
This bigger number thing is so silly
By the way HTC M9 has 20mp camera and it takes worse photos than iPhone 6 with only 8mp.
