Looks like NOKIA's primetime is on its way.Maybe NOKIA can partner up with siemens mobile. Both are ancient mobile manufacturers who have witnessed rise and fall. After all siemens belongs to BSH which is among top companies in Europe. So financial support is guaranteed too.I was a #NOKIA fan before those iphones and galaxies ;)

nokia + HTC would be insane, as nokia knows how to make a fantastic phone camera and make a battery last for days, and they know how to design a great looking phone, so it could help to give HTC a kick in the right direction, and a market share boost just as people are pining over a android nokia device and have been since the N8 days.

            hmm...
Is the brand value of Nokia still that high?

I know they sit on a lot of patents, so they don't have to pay as much in licensing, as most others have to (cross licensing agreements).
But the same is probably true for Ericsson.

Is the consumer market really that important to nokia?
It's hard to make money in the consumer market...

And where is the differnting factor, beside the brand.
Apple has iOS. And really devoted fans. And a reputation of beeing luxury devices that you can affoard.

Ok, if Nokia partnered with Xiaomi, to bring their devices on to the global market, with as little mark-up as possible (the patent issues wont be that big, with Nokias portfolio).
They could then become a mayor player. Potentially ruling the mid-range market.
But Nokia wouln't make huge profits.

Very sad. That steve elope was put in the company to turn it weak till microsoft can buy with degrated value. After all, the main interest was its patents. Now we read this...very very sad.

I Think Nokia must concider partnership with Blackberry because both is in bad standing in the cellphone industry and both the companies where Big in there own way. I think they can work together and build something amaizing!!

Mr.S Elop can help on this.
He should be appointed as new CEO to head smartphone division.

If only it were possible I'd like to say Nokia may merge with Linux to create an official Linux smartphone running the official Ubuntu mobile OS that will possibly be a direct competitor to Apple's iPhone and Microsoft's Windows Phone in that the two high tech giants are currently dominating the PC as well as the mobile world. But as we all know Linux just wants to be an alternative OS for high tech junkies who want to play around with computers chances are it might not go well if that was the case. Another possible partner is Blackberry for its knowledge in both software and hardware.

Good news from Nokia. Please no more experiments. Much as I would like to see Sailfish, it is not mature enough for Nokia. WP seems a waste of time (I've got one) The only alternatives would seem to be Android (and why not? I have one of those as well) or perhaps Blackberry?

They should not follow the smartphone path as Nokia is a pioneer if they are asking for partners for their phone maybe they can like have another release of their best selling brands from before like the 3310, 8210, 7210, etc... and maybe improve the pixel display, maybe partner up with gameboy or nintendo to place it in "color-pixel" and have a pokemon game on it. Well that will be so cool and will top up google android phones

Perkele , 14 Jul 2015To be honest, I think Nokia has historically always had the... morego make your own phone! lol
