07 September, 2015

Zed, 08 Sep 2015From the m8 to the m9 all that was left to be desired was a... moreYou're right about all of that (though the camera with recent updates is quite good, especially if you shoot raw, but without raw in low light it isn't well optimized). The issue I had with the M9 was that it had software bugs. I had the AT&T version and after installing my apps, it would take 4 seconds for that camera to activate each time. The motion gestures weren't working until HTC released an update, then they worked. I couldn't use tethering, it would tell me something about it being unable to work.
The Wi-fi signal reception was bad and needed to be closer to a router, and with some routers it wouldn't work. It would disconnect every 5 seconds and reconnect after 5. Not joking.
The data reception was also bad, I once woke up with my phone roaming. Never had that issue with the S5 and Find 7a.
The scrolling wasn't as responsive and was slower.
The 810 made games and apps run slower than my Galaxy S5!
On-screen navigation on a 5 in. phone makes the screen small.

Sure the design is good but the metal made that you would feel the heat of the 810 way too much. I sold it and bought the LG G4. I love the HTC software design, but I'm also happy with LG's now and I really love the G4. Have no issues with it. Gave my wife the S5.

Its always sad to see a great phone company collapses.
Management's numerous errors has lead them to their current fate, and the funny thing is they are doing it again! soon they will be target of takeover.

Stocks don't mean much if you have money in the bank and solid ideas to take to the market, the so called nose jobs at wallstreet are dirt that just get in any company's way with unwarranted controlling rights in management decision.

Take the company private and revive it in peace, no more messing investor clowns.

From the m8 to the m9 all that was left to be desired was a better camera. Additionally the snapdragon 810 caused major problems for the m9 as well. Coupled with a screen that was poorly calibrated and lack of fingerprint scanner. These 4 things led to the current HTC crisis! Looks wise the m9 clearly is a winner even with it being an evolutionary design upgrade. Many m8 owners would have upgraded and would have given Samsung s6 a hard time

The days of HTC HD2, was very great for HTC. It was one of the best devices of it's time, considering it ran android with tweaks (up to android 5 I guess)
Then they felt pride, so much that they fell behind everyone else.
The successor, HD7, was terrible. terrible at best.
and same can be said about other products too.

Let's hope for a switch of direction and a new revolutionary (not evolutionary) smartphone running SD820 in January.
HTC needs a new HTC One S/X, a new Nexus One of current times.

All manufacturers chase the same customer by forgetting that bit older generation might not be interested in large screens but rather size. In 2000ś the smaller the phone the better it was - today it seems to go opposite and soon 55" tv will be in my pocket.
Reason why iphone 5 is still popular is size. You can operate it with one hand and really covers all functions needed. If i wear jeans and shirt then where the hell i should put my 5-6 inch screen phone?
