AnonD-363550, 08 Oct 2015Ppl like you say that apple sucks because they never innova... moredoesn't matter who make the bad component, if I bought an iPhone and it has some problems cause of an internal component it is still responsable who made and sold the final product, or do you go to samsung asking for support?

Other tests show no difference in battery life or performance at all.

Higher clockrates are harder to sustain at lower process nodes.
Its not that Samsung's 14nm process is inferior, rather Apple didn't optimize the layout for it. I suspected the clock rate of 1.85 to be too high for CPU cores that big. and layout optimization for clockspeed at 14nm would render the chip effectively as big as the 16nm chip..
It is quite possible the 16nm chip was the primary choice but Smasung's 14nm was called in to fulfill the demand.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2015Not it isn't derrrbrain all the phones you mentioned are br... moreNot true actually. 2 S6s for example that has the same model number(not a different number nor variant) does not necessarily have the same camera sensor.Like iPhone 6S, there's no way of knowing what internals it has unless you buy it. And I've read reports of the same move on Edge+ and Note 5 as well.

I think Samsung very clever.
A few years ago Apple successfully sued Samsung for violation of Apple design.
To recoup the losses Samsung would in a subtle way produce poor performing chips to avenge those losses.
Very very clever...
Chipgate is very real...

Considering Samsung chips are 2nm smaller , ideally it should use less battery and more efficient, but results are otherwise.
Proves that samsung is inferior even in manufacturing business technology too.

Tests seem very arbitrary, would be nice if there was more thorough testing.

AnonD-430787, 08 Oct 2015I really want this news to go main stream media.. This wil... moreU know the reason they go to Samsung is cos TSMC can't keep up else they would have stop going to Samsung for chip, ram and display. And it's risky having only 1 manufacturer, they screw up and no iPhone will be launch that year.

Anonymous, 08 Oct 2015Sounds like a similar incident of Samsung using different c... moreNot it isn't derrrbrain all the phones you mentioned are branded as different phones unlike the iPhone 6s/plus. There mentioned to be exactly the same and there not there's two versions and apple kept all quiet I find it quite shocking I don't think there's a company that's done that before meaning keeping the soc a secret phone do come in different versions using different socs but they public
